-Friendly Fleets will be implemented this weekend for E-1, E-3P3, and E-5P4.
-The Spring 2022 Event, "Fierce Battle! R-Area Operation", is underway. The Main Operation consists of 3 maps, and the Extra Operation "Bloody Battle! Bizarre Battle off Cape Bono", consists of 2 maps.
-The new ships are Japanese submarine I-201 (E-1/2 drop) and Kagerou-class destroyer Hayashio (E-3 reward), Kurahashi (E-4 drop), and BB-46, The Old Mary (E-5 reward).
-The new equipment is the Late Model Radar & Passive Radiolocator + Snorkel Equipment, Late Model Bow Torpedo Mount (4 Tubes), the legendary B-25 Mitchell land-based attack bomber, Ryuusei Kai (Skilled), Shiden Kai (343 Air Group) 701st Fighter Squadron, and 5inch Twin Gun Mount (Secondary Armament) Concentrated Deployment.
-Haruna will receive her Kai-IIB side remodel some time this year.
-The April ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment is the 15m Duplex Rangefinder + T21 Radar Kai-II + Skilled Fire Director.
-The Summer 2022 Event will take place in Europe again.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to critical DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures will remain until further notice. EN EO now bypasses the block. Don’t know what’s happening this month, but everything has done my way it’s unreal. I’m finally able to make a third fleet which I hope makes expeditions easier in me. I was getting worried that I would have to pay to use it. I still haven’t used Akagi, trying to level up my other shipgirls to a somewhat decent level before I do. Don’t know how if that’s a viable plan, but that’s the fun when playing. Overall, everything is going okay with me.

I switched the planes to 2 obs planes on bongo and 1 obs + 1 night plane on haruna, but now the night plane never activates. I am afraid to drop asw because the sub node has never sent me back so far but I know as soon as I take the sonar off I will get trolled. I was thinking a plane would make abukuma do more damage, but I'm having more trouble with one enemy staying alive until night battle so maybe the minisub is better. Learned it was useful couple events back but never bothered to actually find out more, well, not like knowing why would help anyway. Though I guess that means having more than 2 might be useful if you ever are able to have that many ships with seaplanes.

It was annoying with AACI so I hope it isn't here.

The first plane that procs will be the contact plane.

If accuracy ≤ 1:
Night attack +5
Accuracy * 1.1
Critical hits do 157% damage

If accuracy = 2:
Night attack +7
Accuracy * 1.15
Critical hits do 164% damage

If accuracy = 3:
Night attack +9

Large searchlight would have made the touch way more consistent but alas I didn't have one, and without double obs it might not have done enough damage without the debuff (which I did sometime in week two).
All the stuff is the TCI backup plan in case the touch failed (which it often did). Takanami was originally the ace in the hole but my RNG was extremely biased against her, focusing her down every sortie to the point where I took her off yasen duties and she still got shot up in the daytime. Pasta took her place to use her good base luck and double obs bonus, if it came down to her. She replaced Abukuma in the fleet, the opening torp was nice but I needed finishing power a lot more.
LBAS included one range-boosted fighter to guarantee AS alongside Nisshin's four seaplanes.

A lot easier? No. Not like previous events where if you have a hard capable fleet medium becomes an absolute cakewalk.
Iirc I actually only cleared LD with a flagship snipe rather than a clean S-rank. Otoh I got it done on like my first or second LD run on medium so I cannot say how representative that is. Might have gotten lucky, or maybe even unlucky and S-ranks aren't hard on LD who knows.
Easier? Well, I did it without sparkling, support expeds or all those nasty stuff.

That will be a little iffier imo. Do you have Yahagi? Yukikaze? But not having the hotel would actually be a pain. Her Yamato Touch and being all around stupid powerful definitely helps a lot.
Otoh, I also just remembered that I cleared medium without a debuff, so if you debuff then I guess it probably isn't that hard. Especially since looking at the nodes I need to hit there isn't anything like E3 node U. Just keep in mind pre-LD I wasn't having any difficulties once I reached the boss. That and it was before FF came out so perhaps it's even easier now.

This is probably the key point, you'll want to spend more time farming the good shit instead of slamming your head against the wall.
But anyway, looking at the rewards, what you really want, i.e. not just shiny or maybe it might be useful in the future, is E2H and E3M for the B-25s. Those are already instantly useful rather than theoretically useful.
E4 and E5 you want to go as high as you can as most of the shit there is useful. Though imo none of them are as important as getting those B-25s now. The Shiden Kai on E4 is nice to get if you really lack good defense fighters, and it also has decent range if you need to sortie it too so try to get that if you have ships to spare for the locks, E4M is doable if you can clear E3M.

Actually after looking at the Yamato Touch multipliers I agree that you should actually aim for E4H.
Because the multipliers from having a very large radar is actually pretty good. You'll have one already from Musashi KN, the 2nd would be iffier to get, unless you sacrifice the 46cm kai +8 from the Yamato quests since you won't be sacrificing the proto triple. But that gun is also very useful for it's VL range so it's a tough choice.
Unless of course you pick up the good radar here, then the choices from the quest becomes straightforward. If you're a newbie that is.
