kinoue is probably the only producer that's still consistently producing shoegaze vocaloid stuff now. there are some other new producers that did dip their toes to shoegaze, but they're mostly just testing the water, they'd quickly change genre if shoegaze doesn't work out for them.
by large, the genre is pretty much dead now alongside others like math rock and post rock vocaloid.

The rest of them like Kaito's ice cream, Meiko's sake etc just go up in levels of forced-ness and most of them really don't come up that often anymore. Just a relic from the old days of Vocaloid that people still remember occasionally.

Rin's orange business makes me incredibly butthurt. Her head did look like an orange in the DTM magazine sketch from Nov 2007 where she was first shown and where's she's literally orange and the tips of her bow even look green like leaves, but that's the only image where the resemblance existed. It's a character item that became obsolete the moment her completed design and illustration were released, but people stuck with it anyways and now Rin's colour has to be orange even though she's fucking yellow. Why can't both her and Len's colour be yellow, what's the problem with that? Every other Cryptonloid gets to have merch that fits them expect for Rin because they force it to be orange instead of yellow like she is.

it's off-topic but i pay mega.nz for cloud storage. the megasync program has been giving me a lot of strange issues by not syncing files intermittently. simply put, i must occasionally manually analyze the synced files to make sure they're online. yesterday all of the most important files weren't online and it freaked me out, but today they're online and it's working fine. i could just end up moving to another cloud service because of this.

on-topic i use megasync to keep a full backup of my foobar media player installation including configuration files, custom database, plugin components, along with my entire vocaloid music collection (865GB.) i use it to both share music with you lot, and also to prevent catastrophic data failure. in the event that i lose all of my data, i can download the entire mega drive onto a computer, drop the files over a clean foobar installation and theoretically i lose nothing and can continue to mikumiku with all of you. the issue is if files certain don't consistently sync i could have an install with files that are all outdated. it's not a big problem, but acceptance of losing even a little data because the program doesn't work right isn't the reason i paid so much money for storing it online.

the most obvious reason a transfer stopped is the most clear and you already know this, the user simply went offline, and the icon next to their name went red. the queues will remain incomplete and sit indefinitely until the user comes back online.

other messages you may see are "File not shared" which means they moved/renamed/deleted the folder you were downloading and haven't restarted slsk yet, or they moved it outside of their shared folders and the files are literally no longer being shared. the OTHER reason you would see this message is because, yes, unfortunately, they banned you. the semantics have been changed from the older versions of slsk, where these banning issues originated and were anywhere between prolific to exceedingly rampant. for that we simply don't call it "banning" anymore, this was to curtail the issue with megalomaniacs banning people simply because they didn't like you. it's no longer like 'slamming the door in their face' rather than politely closing it. unsharing files from users also does not block them, so you have the chance to rectify it by reading their user info to see what you did wrong, sending an apology, and perhaps they will reshare their files with you. if they went red, or you're not seeing them in search results anymore, then they also ignored you and there's not much you can do about it.

personally i have no such time or energy for this type of micromanagement. if i see any bad actors queuing >100GB i might send a message along the lines of "you know i got all that from a torrent, dude?" the only people i ignore/unshare are spammers.

there's "Aborted" errors which can have some confusing origins. if it's cycling between "Queued" and "Aborted" then either your ports or their ports are not fully opened. it can also be because the remote user manually cleared their upload queue, but there is not much reason for people to do that, only if the host is being snobby and letting their friends take priority in their upload queue by canceling your downloads. most people keep slsk closed and go afk so this should be rare, i almost always suspect the reason i'm seeing Aborted is ports not forwarded. you can also see "Aborted" because read/write access to the folder is denied by the host's operating system (OSX is typically to blame for this.) this is also exceedingly rare. beyond all of that, every kind of network issue will cause the "Aborted" error; like maybe their network administrator suddenly changed policies to deny the program.

typically users will write their policies inside their user info so if you're about to queue a lot of files, it's nice to right-click their name and "get user info" to see if they would have an issue with that.

geoblocking isn't possible with this program.

if you want external storage, try samsung external solid state drives. they're inexpensive and if you have USB-C they're very fast.

i don't recommend RAID0 at all anymore. newer drives like SSD/NVME are fast enough to not warrant its usage and even in application with them the benefit is negligible. RAID0 only makes sense on inexpensive rotational disk storage in massive quantities such as massive enterprise installations. RAID1 on two personal home storage disks is fine enough for full recovery in the event one disk fails, but putting expensive disks in that array will always feel like a waste. RAID5/10 in a home setting are for more hardcore huge volumes where you cannot rely on the dependency of just one piece of hardware for too long, but that is only if you are planning to store a lot of data on a very large volume you want to keep mirrored perpetually, 16-24TB+, and always have the cash on hand to find a replacement drive in the event that one of them fails. spreading the redundancy to too many disks always feels like a risk because instead of relying on the dependency of 1 large capacity drive you're spreading it to 4+ which by probability means there is 4 times the chance of failure.

mobo RAID seriously sucks but i personally haven't used anything outside of that. i used to use RAID1 until the first time i had a drive fail and i ditched it for SSDs. since my data collection is small enough to apply to cheap cloud storage backup solutions i chose that. this is ideal for small storage solutions because you also have off-site backup (true backup; unlike RAID) in case of theft/natural disaster/unnatural catastrophe without a large upfront investment.

tldr if you're under 1TB usage: use cloud not RAID

I personally use software RAIDZ level 3 (ZFS software raid) on my jank-ass old PC of a NAS with TrueNAS installed to run everything.

I have around 14TB of data right now, and I currently backup the NAS to BorgBase. It's a bit expensive for me because of the data size but for a few terabytes or less it is much more affordable, and borg is a great backup creation, compression, and differential snapshot tool. For a cheaper option, I used to use Backblaze B2.

It's not like he consistently uploads 1M+, his views oscillate between 50K-1M. He hasn't been uploading for long time, many people probably forgot about him and/or don't bother checking. Lamaze got me into vocaloid so I don't mean any disrespect but his original hits are either very gimmicky or very dated. Fukkireta is so 2000s, Triple Baka as well, PoPiPo is a gimmick song and he didn't make Geddan, he just made the meme. His earlier songs from the original vocaloid wave are completely dated or tied to iconic music videos, not iconic songs. He matured a lot as a songwriter with the years, but that was way after he was in the spotlight. Now he's coming back with hot music, but zero effort on presentation. Apart from us old fans, zoomers have very little reason to click on his videos. None of his new stuff is that amazing either, they're good but not incredible, and there is no reason for casual fans to stick around. I don't think that's bad though.
