I need a bit of direction.
My big long-term goal is reading manga/vidya and being able to talk to people as a tourist.
Not trying to master the language or work in Japan, just relative semi-fluency.

For Kanji/vocab I'm doing wanikani which works great for me, although a bit too slow right now (lvl 3).

How should I tackle grammar? Does Tae Kim teach me everything I need for my goals? The IMABI dude keeps shitting on him but IMABI seems to be way too in-depth for linguistic autists.
Should I just watch Cure Dolly instead?

Reading Tae Kim is a good start for grammar, don't bother fully memorizing shit like the conjugation tables. Also look into All About Particles.
But really they can only give you a basic understanding of grammar, a foundation. If you want to fully "get" it you need to consume a ton of japanese media and you'll slowly acquire it through osmosis.
Some people like cure dolly but I find grammar videos in general tiresome and cure dolly in particular just annoying, the voice changer doesn't do him any favors.

because they all adopted the Phoenician alphabet or its descendants and later they colonized the world, bringing those alphabets with a single common root everywhere except to places that already had a solid tradition of writing of their own. the best way to explain this is to ask someone to name a few languages and then just look up on Wikipedia how they historically came to adopt an alphabet that came from Phoenician. it'll always come down to bordering a culture with more developed writing and borrowing from them

not that faggot but from my limited understanding I feel like やり続ける and 続ける basically are literally the same but with different nuance.
Kind of like how if you simply say 'continue' in English that's the same meaning technically as 'keep it up' or 'keep on going', but the former is more lcinical and the latter feels more colloquial and sweaty if that makes sense. If i had to guess a Japanese person would also give you a wishy-washy answer like this, I think in all languages there are many examples where there's no 'clear line' and you just have to experience it enough times to get used to the nuance. Hopefully someone who's better at jap than I can chime in though

/beg/ question here, I did Kanji damage a few months ago but quit a couple hundred in because it was so boring and have been doing Tango vocab sentences instead. Into N4 material now, but still struggle with recognising kanji in the wild. Is this because I don't have enough vocab (at around 1300 words roughly) or do you think learning Kanji on its own is worth it. I've seen some say stuff like RTK is a waste of time and that you should focus on vocab, but wanted some second opinion.

TL;DR is learning individual kanji a waste of time?

he cute, who? and how big?
the thing with fembois you have to understand is how they are presented. they mainly wear a lot of/certain clothing to be more appealing; fishnets, knee/thigh high socks, cat ears, etc. lately many are wearing masks to go with their outfit. for many an asian boi, they actually can pass with enough effort. anon, we're all young have a little fun. for some it is a phase and will eventually settled down with their own og and birth healthy jks, that will go on to be big JAV stars despite the yakuza no longer being around in the future

No, they can't

Look, monkeypox bisexual, it's not a matter of holding urges or something, normal people just find it utterly disgusting. No kidding.

Easiest I have come across is Peppa Pig. There are a lot of episodes of it in Japanese on youtube. Another one that's a big step up but still on the easier side is Shirokuma Cafe. You can watch it with a free account on Crunchyroll, but no Japanese subs AFAIK. Shirokuma Cafe is absolutely hilarious too, though will probably be tough to get the jokes six months in. It's spoken pretty slowly too, seems really good for learning from.
