I honestly have no idea how people can watch that crap.
I couldn't get through the first episode, shit is literally exhausting to watch.
After 30 min of the first episode I felt like I ran a fucking marathon, and couldn't force myself to watch any more.
It's so offensively uninteresting.
And yet, somehow, it's not only the highest rated show of the season, but also placed on several top 10 shows of all time.

Anyway was still looking for something good to watch this season, other than U149, so I'm giving Jigokuraku a chance, they're using lots of archaic expressions so it's difficult to follow without subs, but at least the show seems interesting.

What is the difference between building and crafting? And where the line blurs, when does one become the other? You build a house, but you craft a bird house. Or do you also build that? You do build a camp fire but you craft a wooden ornament. You can craft or build a weapon. When do you use which verb? You could, in theory, just have one word for both instances but over time nuancing certain tasks has become useful to emphasize aspects of the activity. You could only have the word drinking and eradicate chugging, slurping, swigging, draining, gulping, sipping and gargling. But all these words exist for a reason: So that you don't have to adverb+drinking to specifiy your kind of drinking. It is the same with 語 語句 単語 言葉. At one point you will have a read a lot of news articles, watched a lot of anime and read a couple books and you will recognize that at certain points a certain word is used. And you will feel wrong to not use the right word at the right time. But this is far down the road in basically any language learning journey. For now just surrender and accept. Learn them all by heart and don't think too hard about the whys and wheres.

More people are watching anime which is good but then again it fucking sucks. The reason why is because most of the people watching it are “normies”. Let me explain. As you could tell, there has been an increase in anime “fans” during quarantine who mostly spam about My hero Academia and Haikyuu (Or just any basic ass Shōnen) but what differentiates them from the average “new anime fan” is that they are normies (mostly Kpop fans, which is obvious to tell since they act like fucking children and spam “aesthetic vibes” or spam random letters instead of fucking laughing. We all know who they are and we all hate them. Most coming from twitter (which is a fucking cesspool I know)). They have ruined our once loved reputation of anime and morphed it into something that only adults with the mentality of a 14 year old would like. The wave of “new normie fans” won’t end for the foreseeable future since it is a trend. Mind you, these were the same people who complained that anime fans were pedos a few years ago and the same people who made fun of us for watching anime as kids. It’s just weird to see the these people now pretend that they’ve been a fan for a long time only because it’s a “trend” It just makes me angry.

You might call me petty, I don’t care but I want out old community back. I want the community that I grew up with back. I’m sure some of you won’t care and some of you might agree. It would be great for me to hear your responses.

How good have subs and translations become over the past few years in your experience? Are there still nuances and expressions that get lost in translation in your opinion?
I'm a bit curious about this because I have seen some people complain about localizations a lot but I don't really know how bad it is since I'm still a beginner

Thought core 2k sucked meg monkey butt, so I spent hours and hours revamping it-

The Vocabulary and audio Is HELLA hype, but the cards themselves I couldn't stand (props to you tho if it helped!)

In the orignal, you had to know how to read the word BEFORE even LEARNING the word itself, the audio doesnt even play until you flip it, and there are no English audios at all to set it in your brain -not to mention the whole card shifted dramatically when you flipped to the back... ?? Not to mention the images themelf took up half the screen, yet RARELY fit the context enough to be helpful- (( like "I'll come back after lunch" and it's just two people shaking hands???)) In short, they were BUSY AF and very ineffective, but the core OF core 2k was so worth while...

So, I spent at least 30 hours learning how the heckin' anki works, processing audios, making eleborate excel sheets that convert the old cards over, and hand fixing everything you can't automate..

Now they have Term with proper Furigana & Audio, a definition with audio, and an example sentence in a small, opaque, less intrusive style! (Also, of course, with audio!) I'm so freaking happy with them now, and I just waned to share my work with those who might appreicate it

I finished revamping the first 100 cards, and now that all the HARD parts are done, it should only take 30min-1hour per 100 cards.

Other way around. Moonrunes are formed from the same ~350 shapes. It gets harder as more accrue, but once once you know them all, it becomes a lot easier to tell how a moonrune is constructed, and you can instantly guess how to write it.

Don't think about the kanji, but instead think of the whole thing as a unit, which it is. When you see 帰ります, think of かえります altogether. It's always kanji + kana that make a verb, so try to remember it like that.
