- All maps of the "Summer Event" are now available. Friends are now available for E1, E2, E4-2, E4-3, E6-3 and E7-5. No end date has been announced yet.
- There are 9 new ships. 4 as rewards (Shirakumo, Inagi, Nevada, and Rodney), 5 as drops (Salmon, Asashi, Kaiboukan 22, C.Cappellini, and JAVelin)
- Some summer CGs have been swapped for festival CGs.
- September ranking rewards have been distributed. They are the Toku Daihatsu Landing Craft + Chi-Ha, Torpedo Squadron Skilled Lookouts +4, Type 13 Air Radar Kai (Late Model) +8, and 12.7cm Twin Gun Mount Model D Kai 3 +4
-Amatsun has received her Kai-II. It requires level 73, 1BP, and 1AR.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to critical DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures will remain until further notice. EN EO now bypasses the block. Another possible workaround is using https://github.com/Tibowl/KCCacheProxy

Simply because if a ship has battleship guns, it has to be in range to fire them. And if it's at range to fire, it's at range to be shot back. If it gets hit, the flight deck goes out and then it can neither launch aircraft nor retrieve them, becoming nothing more than a crippled BB.
It only works in KanColle because of the simplistic fleet arrangement where you sortie BBs and CVs together for surface action.

That would work as a simple battleship if it were politically acceptable, but it would be foolish to combine the carrier with it because that would hurt the economics and flexibility. Smaller ships in larger numbers would be more efficient. Even dedicated aircraft carriers are already at the point where you'd want to sail them away from the enemy when a real war breaks out. Missile spam would be the real battle.

Hello again everyone,

I check in every year or so just to ask whether they let people in North America legally play yet or if you have to still use shameful evasion tactics VPNs and the like to get around the publishers/creators wishes. While I have purchased alot of merch in many years past including posters, figures, dakis etc I still reserved some hope that they would come out and some day legally let us play because I have been very interested in naval history my entire life and got out of the US Navy around the time this came out as an E-5. (AT Avionics P-3's)

I have also noticed this thread is much slower than just a year or two ago and I am wondering if that follows with the waning popularity of the game. If so, that is unfortunate. I was very active in these threads the first six or seven years mainly posting about my love of begone Battleships. While I enjoyed the anime and numerous doujinshi, I hope before it gets shut down they let a large segment of the foreign population play if it doesn't require much effort.

I forgot for the Fletcher quest she had to be flag, so touch won't do there. I usually use something like this for 6-5 and how found it to be not that bad. Biggest issue is Atlantits tends to eat dirt at the night node. Depending on how lazy I am I'll either bucket her or swap in a TCI CL and swap Fletcher to aaci.

Just play maps on Easy then.
No shiplock bullshit means you can start right at beginning, much less needed to unlock routes or shorcuts, can play at your own pace.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if all events were like this one. Difficulty was just right, cleared all maps on Hard before they even released friends, and there was a clear difference in terms of shiplocks between MO and EO so I could start just 2 weeks later knowing I didn't run the risk of random benchwarmer destroyer having 50x damage on E7.
