Toyota is the biggest car maker the same way Microsoft is the biggest software company.

Their products are the same level of quality.

>It's not Japan's fault, it's America's.

I love how Japan's worldview is just one fucking big No True Scotsman fallacy.

How long until they pull the Red Herring fallacy and start excusing Toyota because something similar happened with American cars?

>> No.4481366

I really don't get this Toyota crap. All of a sudden like 5 cars represent the millions the company produces? GET HYPE

When you mass produce cars all the same, it can be a problem.

>> No.4481430

>>4481398
yeah, the thing is the most of the recalled cars have no problems. Seems like a small group of people are just trying to blow the whole thing out of proportion because some drunk driver killed their dog

>> No.4481475

>>4481430
You know, if a drunk driver actually killed someone's dog, that might fly. But in this case, it was entirely the fault of the car, not a human driver.

Nobody actually knows under what circumstances makes the accelerator get stuck and the brakes to stop working.

All those cars out there have the potential to go haywire like these few other cars that did. Neither you nor I know what the real problem is.

So neither of us can truly say that all those other cars are safe.

Reminds me of the O-ring on the Challenger. On all the previous launches, the O-ring showed no signs of problems, but on that fateful day when the Challenger blew up to bits, the temperature has very low, causing the O-ring to become rigid. All it takes is for that condition to be met (in that case, freezing temperatures) and BAM! You've got a disaster. NASA couldn't keep flying shuttles until they figured out the problem and fixed it. Toyota can't keep selling the same cars without figuring out the problem and fixed it.

If there wasn't such an anti-American bias out there, people would realize this is a safety issue, whether it was Toyota, BMW, or Ford.

It might interest you to know that the plot of Debt of Honor started with a similar big popular outcry in America resulting from faulty Japanese cars.
