The sad part is that we have a whole manga about her and learned next to nothing new about her personality. Like she lives in a big western mansion underground with a bunch of animals, many of them sentient, writing books and they couldn't think of one interesting factoid about her life to share?
I was hoping to see more social interaction between her and the surface dwellers, instead it is all business talk and everyone seems to have momentarily forgotten their hatred of her ability besides a comment or two of mild dislike. I was hoping she would make a few friends and it would be a big deal.

To clarify, what's considered "non-lethal" for 2hus aren't bound by the common sense. Sakuya's been throwing knives at you since Touhou 6, and that's a "non-lethal" attack. Yukari's been throwing trains at you since 7.5, and that's a "non-lethal" attack. Master Spark's supposed to be able to decimate a mountain, and that's a "non-lethal" attack. Okuu throws mini-suns at you and that's a "non-lethal" attack.
The funniest example is literally Mokou, as her attacks LITERALLY kill herself... and that's a non-lethal attack.

What's considered as lethal in 2hu must be some kind of otherworldy bullshit. We at least know Makai burns down when Reimu and Shinki fight in MS, and that was before the spellcard rules.

The first chapter from Chireikiden that I'd say I really loved. In all my life I never expected Byakuren and Flandre to ever interact with each other in canon, much less fight. I like the ending part, too.
Flandre's straightforward bloodthirst really makes her an ideal enforcer for keikaku doori type characters.

Seeing the old art makes me a little nostalgic sometimes. The new art is well-done and aesthetically pleasing but I do miss the old amateur "girly" style. It was cool that ZUN took a chance on a basically unknown artist, really gave it that doujin spirit. It would have been interesting to see what the original design for mizuchi was supposed to look like and to see the artist improve over time like the WaHH artist did.

I wonder if she regrets giving up working on it.

Flandre literally, straight-up kills toutetsu in 17.5 by exploding her using her ability because she's invulnerable to everything else. The entire point of 17.5 is basically that Flan is the only one who can outright destroy her to the point that Okina has to manipulate her into assassinating her.

In terms of raw power she's probably the strongest character in canon assuming she cheats and uses her ability. Juiced up on blood Toutetsu is a close second since not even EX bosses and gods could dent her and it's implied she'd have been basically unstoppable if Flan wasn't around.

Despite possession being her main gimmick this entire manga it's been hinted at before that her ability is actually kind of terrible She doesn't inherit any of the persons' memories or skills and presumably wouldn't know how to use any of their special abilities, or at least not use them very well. The kappa chapter makes it a point that she can't possess anyone that needs a degree of specialized proficiency in something or else it'd be easy to expose herself because she's limited to just being able to manipulate a persons' body. It's like taking over the body of a master martial artist but it doesn't change the fact that you don't know anything about martial arts.

Even though Satori's mindreading ability is a part of her body it probably took a long time to learn how to actually control it. The entire point of Koishi is that she had to shut her eye since she couldn't take the flood of thoughts after all.

Flan sure isn't omnipotent, but your only chance of winning against her in a fight is pretty much just keeping her happy and wanting you alive to play more with. Not to say Byakuren isn't serious business, but she's not an oni or something, just a really good magician, a race which mostly gets by by not going out and picking random fights to begin with.

she was introduced in 2010 when WaHH started in 2010, so going by order, she shouldn't show up until after UFO, but she lives on the mountain, so she should have shown up during the MoF arc
unfortunately she's become a victim of the ZUN manga curse, where as soon as 'their' manga is done, they never appear again
Kosuzu hasn't shown up since FS finished aside from a VFiS cameo for example (she probably should have appeared when Mizuchi was looking around the human village and spotting youkai, since she keeps so many youma books), and Kasen's only appearance since WaHH ended was one of the endings for 17

Ghosts and vengeful spirits are differentiated by their relative humanity. Vengeful spirits generally are consumed by whichever negative emotion drives them, while ghosts are more or less close in mindset to humans and - presumably - susceptible to possession thereby. Tojiko used to be a vengeful spirit, but by losing her grudge transitioned to being a "normal" ghost.

I'm kind of surprised that Mamizou didn't show up for CDS. She is the 2nd most nosiest character in the series, outside of Aya, and shows up in almost everything since her debut in TD.
The moment the vengeful spirit attacked the SDM and Reimu and gang got shit on for their incompetence in the newspapers, Mamizou would have went all in on this crises.
