Theres no way. I had tons of free time my first 6 months, and have always spent most of my free time in japanese content since I started, and though I've never used a hooker, VN lookups didn't reach what I would call low frequency until about 12 months in, as someone who has a look up every little thing I don't know style, anime/manga lookups already being very low at that point. This was also when reading speed started to get fast and I would say about 16 months in was when I was really reading 'fluidly'. Unless I'm a retard it's gotta take tons of time. I didn't bother with VNs until 6 months in so the no hooker thing wasn't as torturous as it sounds, I jus didn't like the idea of using one. If you're actually going to start with VNs with 0 experience though absolutely use a hooker.

Actually, some of the best games I ever played are like that. No summaries, no expectations, no nothing, just go in after looking at the cover art or whatever. Of course, the game has to be some what decent in quality, but my overall enjoyment does tend to get better than games I waited months but didn't deliver.

Finally done with Hakkenden
Lots of deaths for shock value and some twists out of nowhere, but at least it kept me entertained. I liked how the whole vengeance thing was concluded with "but it feels good to kill these fuckers, now my life can start" rather than the usual "vengeance is bad." I don't know what the bad guys were going to do in the end, since the MCs attacked them before they could start their plan. After stories kind of cancel everything bad that happened, and everyone revives, but at least the MCs are forgotten, so every side character lives their life as they want, and it doesn't end up as a fully happy ending. I thought characters with dogs were the ones who retained their memory, but it seems like not. Kumataka deserved better.
For routes: Kobungo > Dousetsu > Sousuke > Shinbe
For characters: Kobungo > Daikaku > Dousetsu > Shino > Genpachi > Shinbe > Keno > Sousuke
Obviously not a kamige, and I will forget most of what happened in a few months, but overall, I liked it.
I do hope they made a profit at least. Seeing how much it was marketed for how much data is on EGS so far, doesn't seem like it will hit big at all.
Now back to the backlog until unravel trigger.

I got distracted with other things and have been reading Sayonara Mayumi-Chan (wheelchairge-obscurege an anon giften a few threads back) at a snail's pace, but I'll now try to pick up the pace.
I like the titular wheelchaired heroine, Mayumi. She's sweet and innocent and in a way kind of reminds me of Nagisa from Clannad (especially when both have health conditions). I'm focusing to get her ending. The game's title does suggest some sort of separation, though.
There's a philosophical menhera sort of girl (picrel) which I find interesting, and I could try getting her ending after Mayumi's, though the guide an anon shared a few threads back says that getting the endings other than Mayumi's requires bringing a "悲しい結末" upon her, which is a bit sad.
Other than that there's a loli-like nurse, and a megane nurse. To be honest, neither seems to be too interesting to me. There are also two hags, but that's out of the question.
I'm looking forward to see how things will play out.

yeah, niijima really destroyed my girl there. although i guess that's where there's really an explanation to that prelim comment by hatsuyuki where he made mention that he felt there was something else possessing her. in retrospect, while admittedly a bad ending by more traditional standards, i still feel it was satisfying in the sense of showing how far aya's love and devotion could reach. i'm not going to say that the rest of the cast didn't really understand hatsuyuki's pain, but it really left me with a final feeling of: wow, the two of them really loved him to a point that could almost be considered obsessive. usually "obsessive" as such has a negative connotation, but in this case i feel like the love of the two is so pure and unconditional that it's a good thing

I have the same general feeling about Hulotte, too. They introduce a great superpower or item or ability, then essentially fail to use it for anything interesting. Like, Atropos -- the 主人公 gets a watch that can stop time, right? Great. It's still far from a complete revival though as we need more new blood in the scene.

The first game showed us how creating a paradise for people is the same as creating a living hell for others. The sequel, Nukitashi 2, shows us the point of view of the SS members, the antagonists in the first game, and how they ended up in their positions. It shows different people’s view on sex through different characters, and how that caused discrimination and conflict among them. That conflict could easily have been avoided through tolerance of the other person’s views. Similar to its prequel, Nukitashi 2 is a story of tolerance of the minority, and tolerance on other people’s sexual fetish. People just need to be allowed to search for someone else who can understand them without fearing for their safety. That is all that is needed to give the minority a place to belong to.
