Custom work still involves makeup or "face-up" which can greatly change even if the mold or sculpt is the same. custom doll work also involvs eye choice of which there are a large number, hairstyles of inifinite possibility and of course head.

For example: Dollfie Dream Nanoha and Dollfie Dream Fate both use the same head. despite looking different. Moreso, Yoko and Nia use the same head. but are of different color and eye.

tl;dr different eye, hair and "makeup" work will make the same molded head look like two 100% completely different dolls.

Then there's other stores such as AmiAmi and HLJ which carries Azone dolls and accessories.

This is why a faq might be helpful since you don't always need Japanese language skills and a deputy...but agreed on the fuck tons of cash point.

You have to be quick on the stuff they don't send to volksusa otherwise it's off to yahoo. Just last fall, Yuki, Yoko and Nanoha all were sold with international shipping if you managed to se them in stock but Fate, and a some other special editions were withheld.

Really, there doesn't need to be a faq. the people who ask where/how to buy are /jp/ casuals to begin with.

Den of angels is a good place for getting any information you cant get here i think, although most of the people there seem a little obsessive over dolls...cant be weirder than 4chan though

Sadly here's where I'm not an expert. Since I'm a Volks fanboy (garage kits as well as Dollfie Dream) I've only bought their clothes because of the guaranteed fit.

You can buy Azone 50cm and 60cm clothes at any of the following places to list a couple:

Since Dollfie Dream falls somewhere in between you'll need to decide if you want the clothes to run large or small or make alterations. But in general they fit. I have some Azone tights for my DD but they're sort of large, so I bunched them up at the top of the thighs where they're not seen and it's not an issue.

And of course, for desired and rare things, (be prepared to spend) yahoo japan:

Agreed. Remember, the majority of them are resin fans and tend to have weird views on their dollfies. I'm going to assume that DD owners (along with most other vinyl types) are drawn to them for the more anime aesthetic.

Besides Tama-nee, I have to say that I like Saber & Rin's faces the best.

I'm pissed - I bought Rin an AZONE hakama but I cant get it tied correctly. I know how to tie one, but the god damn cord is too short.

Ok, poor term I agree, but what I'm saying is that most "ABJD" are primarily resin and strung, as opposed to the Azone and DollfieDream line (not including the DD1 bodies) which are vinyl and have an inner frame.

Den of Angels only allow DollfieDreams in because of the DollfieDream I bodies which were strung like a traditional ABJD but had a vinyl body. Since DollfieDream II bodies have an inner frame, it wouldn't normally be allowed but it is part of the DollfieDream family so they allowed it, as with the MDD and DDDy bodies.

And not all of them are obsessed so much to believe that their Dollfies are alive... but there are quite a few.

Sorry if I offended the garage kit owners by using the term resin fans too.
