Because janitors decided to be faggots and delete entire threads affected by the porn dump instead of the porn itself. The thread was near the end of its lifespan anyway, so no huge harm done, but since OP is lacking here's all the shit anybody will need:
EFZ: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KOB5BAGL
Netplay client: http://poverty.mizuumi.net/efzstuff/EFZdotNET_EX_011_Beta_Debug_fs5.zip

GGs. You seem to be doing anything and everything you can to not block on wakeup. It might be a nice idea to, I don't know, block more often, especially when I punish your attempts 3, 4 times in a row and you still don't give up. It usually goes against newcomers habits to block for some reason, but it's highly important, especially in this game.
And yeah, I know I can't super counter chibimai but I can at least try.

Showing up almost immediately before I was about to dehost and go push VagPov instead; you're a bro, DD. It looks like there're only like 3 players around anymore these days, but I've at least made an attempt to keep the empire from crumbling for this long. Sorry the dream didn't last as long as we'd hoped.

Gee gees either way, sorry that I was ridiculously scrubby but I was trying to grind my Johnn-- Mai on chibimai setups, ICing, and other shit before learning fancy Jap combos. She can reversal like a pro, which I like, but there's so much about her that makes me really angry that I think I should probably order a new controller now just in case. Every time I saw your 5A delay 5A delay 5A delay minute-long combo I started groaning really loudly, which turned into loud profanity, which probably would've turned into a controller embedded in my monitor if I hadn't taken a break. Practicing is probably a good idea before going back out there.

Speaking of which, I'm glad to have finally learned "the climb" but it just doesn't feel like enough when it seems impractical because I can never set myself up to do it. It's like every time I get the chance to actually 623A IC into the whole thing it drops and I get 236 instead, else I just end up thinking it's safe when it isn't and take 5k or whatever. I thought I had the patience for this stuff but guess not; this game doesn't make me nearly as angry as, say, Soku, sure, but it's really up there.
As long as I get to be with my mute waifu, everything'll be fine, r-right? ;_;

Also, I really wish I could be hearing that Shoujo no Ori in that one stage instead of the trash I am hearing. Oh well.

What exactly is the learning curve and general gameplay for this game like? I'm one of the few who have never touched EFZ before despite somebody pestering me to download it, but if people are going to actually play it I might attempt to learn it so I have something to do to waste my time now that soku here is really boring.

>> No.5218934

>>5218920
I haven't tried SFZ myself (preferring to stick to Hisoutensoku), but based on the discussions I see in these threads, it seems closer to a "real" 2D fighter. In other words, there's more technical stuff to it, so I'd rather not bother starting.

>> No.5219189

>>5218920
>>5218934

The learning curve is okay, it really ranges depending on the character you want to play.

The combos certainly aren't as easy as Melty Blood standard BnBs, but they aren't entirely 1-frame link or Fate/Unlimited Codes bullshit either. It's mostly juggling and reaction on counter hits, so it might take a few days of intense practice to get aerial combos down.

Misaki, for example, comes in with stuff you'd see in 2D fighters. Nanase, however, has a pretty unique style that I've only seen in EFZ and would take time adjusting to.

>I found learning curve for this much, much easier than that of Suimusou for example.

There, that's a bit more accurate. But really, having played good players and scrubs alike as well as having watched a bunch of moonrune tourneyfag videos, I can say that - although it's sort of difficult to phrase - combos are difficult to pull off effectively but actually... doing things isn't. The "learning curve" for getting used to things like timing RGs, ICing, hitconfirming supers, DPing on wakeup, etc isn't anywhere near as high as some of the more technical mainstream fightans out there, but it's true that this game revolves around 70% combos and similar bullshit in high-level play, which requires really precise timing and ridiculous amounts of practice to even begin to get right. Even the best players here in /jp/ botch them like 80% of the time.

That said, in matches where neither player knows every single property frame of every move their character has there's not a very steep curve for figuring out how to put a stop to the shit your opponent's doing, if you're still following me this far. So while I will say that the combos are so hard to learn that this may even top Guilty Gear and some notable others in how difficult it is to reach the maximum level of enlightenment that you see in Japanese tournament replays or whatever, there's really no need to reach that level to begin with over here because the scene is really, really small.

tl;dr it's only easy because we play for fun, tourneyfags have it tough.

Polefriend, you a bro. That's enough for me for now though, thanks and GGs.

I'd been playing so much other shit recently that I kept trying to do silly impossible things like one-button throws, plus the fact that apparently ground grabs can whiff, so I got tripped up a few times when trying to explain to you to, you know, stop chickenblocking so much. It got to the point where I knew you were going to do it so I could safely just walk in and throw you wherever with whoever; it's a habit I've had too for a while, but you should probably consider fixing it before it eats you like a sandwich. And not just any sandwich, like a chicken or fish sandwich or whatever-- no, I mean a BLT. A fresh BLT with the ripest of tomatoes and steaming bacon.
... Goddamn am I hungry.

Yeah anyway, sorry my Johnn-- Mai is trash, I started learning her then stopped so I half-assedly remembered all my setups. I'm sure trashing her felt great. What I want to see you do is grow until you become a powerful entity, and then crush my mute waifu in a situation where I'm not dropping inputs all over the place; granted, it was pretty cool that I finally pulled off half of her BnB once which is something I rarely see even in 64fps, but I felt like an idiot running into every little thing just so I could attempt to mash out 663C. Amusingly enough, the tripping that the 663C is and my clumsiness running into shit are one in the same. Hurrhurrhurr.

Wrong. The easiest way to explain it is that "wakeup" refers to what you do when you get up after being knocked down, while "oki" or "okizeme" is what you do on their wakeup after knockdown.

Here, have some copypasted advice from some anonymous tourneyfag:
Okizeme doesn't necessarily mean anything you do; it just happens to be "whenever the opponent lacks frame advantage but is conventionally safe." While standing up fits this criteria, times when you just block a super or EX also count for this.
If you do nothing thats also okizeme, just because of the opponent's situation. So you can't tell a person "You don't okizeme," but instead "Your okizeme is shit," because they act in a bad way when they could be better taking advantage of the situation with some kind of mixup.

In context, the chart doesn't really mean a whole lot when it says 'oki' because resistance to wakeup tactics is dependent on the player. No, what it really means in this case is how a character can set up fancy shit to where if the opponent tries to wakeup DP or whatever they get their asses handed to them. If you've ever played a Nagamori and got note-crossuped on wakeup you'd understand why she has S-tier oki.

I'm only acting like a tourneyfag because the thread is on page 10

It's unfortunate truth. I don't like it, but it looks like it's time for us to choose our next victim.
Therefore, I'd like to direct the attention to a few other old trashy doujin fighters that everybody can be casuals at and have a scene with all over again.
First off, we have a favorite of last year, Vanguard Princess -- also known as "Vagina Poverty":
http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/win95/game/se477052.html
http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/Vanguard_Princess
VagPov, created by a Jap bro who was an ex-Capcom employee and made netplayable by the creation of an anon of /jp/, Lunaport, which later went on to unite a bunch of other 2DFM-playing faggots, is about large-breasted women commanding little girls to fight other titty monster/loli teams in really flashy locations where there is no foreground.

Next, we have this:
http://f41.aaa.livedoor.jp/~ainefill/WonderfulWorld_ver_047.exe
http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/Wonderful_World
Wonderful World is a mediocre 2DFM project with zero balance, fatal chip damage, and characters who can literally mash one move to rebounce through entire rounds, but it has the most HNNNNNGGGGGGH character design I've ever seen from anything. I mean holy crap, I've already taken Corona as my waifu, how it plays I could care less.

Finally, there's what I like to call RED MOON LIGHTNING FIGHT:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5bip98eu
http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/Akatsuki_Blitzkampf
This one's way old and swarmed with tourneyfags, sure, but some anon suggested it a few weeks ago. No moeshit in this one but hot damn does it look cool, with /jp/'s fightan scene we could get a big group for this going.

The choice is all yours, friends.
I'd be all for sticking to EFZ, but... doesn't look like it'll happen.

Building onto this yes, I do realize that Mizuumi plays every one of those. Thing is, it doesn't seem like anything new's been coming out recently - aside from the rumors of VagPov 2.0 coming out next month - so unless we get a GGXX#R scene going or people decide they want to play Meltan again these are really the only choices we have if we're going to keep the /jp/ fightan group up.

Personally I'd be all for the second one just because of how ridiculously obscure it is and the fact that we could feel, you know, different from everybody else by doing it. Any of them are fine because I already have all 3.
If anybody else would like to suggest something else I'd be glad to hear it.

I-I'm gonna miss you, Mio ;_;

You mean played. Every one of those are dead, and have been for over a year. Technically wanwan doesn't count since it's not even finished, but no one plays that, either.

I can't play a fighting game without my moe. And Touhou sucks. I'll just keep making EFZ threads until the rest of /jp/ likes it.

That's probably why I like it so much. It's just a piece of trash that likes to pretend it's Guilty Gear, what harm would there be in enjoying it with a bunch of NEETs? Also Corona so hnnnnggggh, you can't deny it.

>>5253539
Yes, actually.
The whole deal with these flavor of the month fightans is that they can just be downloaded and played so commercial games, we'd rather not. Even better if they're freeware.
I mean really, if a PC AH or MBAA came out I admit I'd play the fuck out of it, whether /jp/ joined in or not.

>>5253560
>moe
Then there's an even better reason to play w-- wait, how did 'wanwan' become its nickname again? Because of the dude who made it?
Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and call it 'Mediocre World,' that fits and makes me feel less ashamed for playing a 2D fighter maker game that doesn't look as flashy as VagPov in public. And .47 doesn't really play that bad, I'd host it right now if I believed any of /jp/ would join in.
Really though, I'll play you kids if I see another EFZ thread, likely until the end of time, but all the other players got bored and left-- it was inevitable, there was nothing we could do to stop it. I don't like it but we have to just accept it and move on.

Honestly, the only reason I even started playing fightan' games in the first place was due to this one game. Is it really the end for EFZ Memorial? When Memorial Day is just around the corner?

Good games. Your Shiori is definitely your best character, and your Misaki isn't too bad, aside from the random fail super out of the blue. Great usage of DPs and appropriate supers with Shiori to stuff a lot of my okizeme attacks.

GGs. Some fun games happening with Misaki vs Kaori at the end there. You have some decent approaches with Misaki, crossing up sometimes with the 214A, or tick-throwing when you see me being overly defensive. Still, you're throwing those supers away on those vacuum grabs (haha I can't believe I got off Kaori's unblockable super during your grab) -- those setups don't work except at point-blank range. It'd be nice to find a combo where you can tack on a super at the end for guaranteed extra damage.

Anyway, hosting again.
