Finished the Japan part in Eve: The Lost One. The twists involving Snake are the best parts so far.

Having each POV on a separate CD is pretty annoying when you reach a sequence that requires you to switch often (think the hacking sequence from Burst Error)

Also, Yabuki Joe cameos.

Finished Links!, your really average fantasy kyarage but I was taken with the elf heroine at first sight. There's also loli incest heroine for those interested.

Excellent choice, best heroine of the bunch.
Although to be honest, I never did get around to the other routes.

I'm currently on chapter 8 of Steins;Gate. I've been really impressed so far, though I don't think it's quite lived up to the hype yet. Of course that could all change with the last couple of endings.

I'm absolutely adoring Tsun na Kanojo Dere na Kanojo. I started it back in February, I kept the saved game that I saved on Valentine's day because it's funny. I wasn't very much interested when I started so I dropped it for months. A few weeks ago my roommates all moved out and I got stuck with no utilities or internet for 2 weeks so I had to go to my aunt's. During that time I played some Tsun na Kanojo Dere na Kanojo because I had so little to do.

Anyway I thought it was a game of Tsunderes but it's not. It's a game with 3 Deredere girls and 3 Tsundere girls. The derederes confess to the MC pretty early in the story, the tsunderes won't break of course and I love cracking a good tsundere.

It's cute, a hell of a lot cuter than I thought going in to it. There's a space alien chick, a childhood friend, another childhood friend that's like a sister, a set of twins, a promise girl from childhood, and an unwanted fiance.

I love the references to Urusai Yatsura and how the alien chick claims she's related to Lum. When the MC laughs at her for believing old comic book characters are real she zaps him, like Lum.

I'm having fun (also why I disappeared from reading Ijiwaru My Master which I'll get back to in a bit, I'm easily distracted).

Solid 9/10, not the god tier I was expecting but still pretty damn good.

Talk about coincidence - I'm playing YMK as well.
Only I finished Aeka and Mizuki routes years ago, and stopped because Nekoko's seemed too retarded to me at the time(it was one of my first VNs).
I still think fucking a random mentally retarded kid up the ass, in a dirty back alley, bent over a dumpster, is dumb, but I'm enjoying the game. I'm almost at the end.
And of course, I'm frustrated again because there's no sister route.
Gotta have to look for something with incest after I finish.

>Yume Miru Kusuri
Shit. Literally. Jesus Christ, I've never ever read anything worse than that pile of shit. Everybody was talking about it for years now, so I thought I'd give it a try. I regret it. Sex scenes were stupid and not entertaining at all, even Nasu could write something better. Every route was a one big sex scene, especially Mizuki's which didn't have any plot just constantly sex and pregnancy in the end. Shit sucked.

>Saya no Uta
A bit better than YMK, but still. I was bored the whole time reading it. All this hype was probably a troll, just like it was with Boku no Pico. Okay, the motive as a whole was nice, but performance was shit. A fucked up guy and even more fucked up girl, if I can call her like that. Shit too.

>Swan Song
This one, on the other hand, was pretty much nice. From the entertaining prologue until halfway was awesome, but they was going downhill. I'm not gonna say it was shit, but was clearly worse than the beginning yet readable. TOO MANY SCENES WITH THAT GLASSES GUY WHO WENT RAMBO, that fucked it up. Also, retard.

ITT: people reading their first VNs

>> No.6076339

I really don't get all these threads.
Are you all using machine translations and only somewhat understand them? Yet make all these semi-reviews and give out all these ratings?

Or are you truly able to read Japanese on a sufficient level? I mean I too can follow stories enough for them to be able to be enjoyable using Mecab, and/or other aids.
But it still feels butchered as i know it's not of the quality it is supposed to be, thus I rarely read stories like that, especialy when it comes to titles that are likely to be translated.

If you know Japanese good enough to feel that you aren't missing out on something, then why aren't some of you contributing to all our little projects everywhere?
Or even, why here at all? If you can read them, then shouldn't you discuss them with others who can read them? Instead of here on /jp/ where people don't know what you have read,

There's a big difference between being able to read a VN and being able to translate it into English. Also reading Japanese is much easier than writing it, so we'd have problems trying to express ourselves more eloquently than something along the lines of "I like the parts where you have sex with your daughters" on a Japanese forum.

I started KimiNozo last night. Holy shit, this is so much better than the anime, which I watched like 5 years ago when I was a fledgling weeaboo. Haruka is MOEEEEEEEEEE, and I love the way the VN is put together. I can't pin it down, but something about the way the sprites and interface and everything works makes it feel so alive. Like, you remember how the sprites blinking in SR, just that little tidbit, made it feel so much better? It's just like that. There are so many POV shots, effects, and everything else that it's just *fun* as hell to play. It'll probably takes me ages to get through it though, since I've heard it's long as hell. LB! took me 6 months, but that was the 2nd VN I'd ever read in Japanese, so I figure I've improved my reading speed a lot. Maybe I can finish Kiminozo in one or two.

>B. Ruth
>George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948), best known as "Babe" Ruth and nicknamed "the Bambino" and "the Sultan of Swat", was an American Major League baseball player from 1914–1935. Ruth originally broke into the major leagues with the Boston Red Sox as a starting pitcher, but after he was sold to the New York Yankees in 1919, he converted to a full-time right fielder and subsequently became one of the league's most prolific hitters. Ruth was a mainstay in the Yankees' lineup that won seven pennants and four World Series titles during his tenure with the team. After a short stint with the Boston Braves in 1935, Ruth retired. In 1936, Ruth became one of the first five players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

I think, essentially, we're going to be looking at Americans who were born in the 1800s. Specifically, New York.

Elysia travels amidst the surface ruins alone (as in, there's no people above ground), Lily wakes up as reverse trap without memories and finds the warped underground where she's taken around by "the A"'s love train. The anime announcement is actually horrible.
Fans of the anime will "eat out" the title, until it's old and boring rather than hip and cool, but it will still be "dug up" so to speak, thus no one will care anymore, and everyone is stuck with whatever the impression the anime gave off, and we all know that adaptations are generally worse compared to their originals no matter the media.

So
Fans will flock it because of rumours of it's source being great.
Fans will be left with an impression that's likely to not being able to compete with the original
Most of the fans won't know better, and some might even claim it's good, or wonderful in fact because anime that's not adaptations are rare nowadays.
So they will be satisfied, fed up, and spread the impression from the not up to par adaptation and still give it off as S;G as if it's no different from the original. Resulting in people believing it's worse than it actually is.
Then a part of the fanbase will come of as obnoxious and annoying pricks, like a portion of all fanbases more or less.

None of this works in favour of us seeing S;G in english, instead S;G will be forever tied with the anime in the eyes of others in the west, and not the other way around.

I'd suggest to get a better grasp of the language before tackling what is essentially a novel-level text, otherwise it just becomes tiring and boring.

I, for one, find it ironic that they announce the S;G anime right before releasing Muramasa: Theatrical Version and bash all adaptations to hell.
Well, at least the characters will stay the same, and that means we'll have just the right amount of their interactions to make the anime at least half-decent. But I suppose they're going to base it on the manga, not the VN, and the manga already got rid of tons of episodes in three chapters we got translated.
