I'm just saying that's too bad. Teen years are the easiest time to have friends and experience the world. All your income is disposable, you have lots of chances to meet people (school, the mall, your job, whatever). And not having a job when you're a teenager is not a big deal. If you think it's hard as a teen then you have no idea.

When you're past your early twenties it becomes almost impossible to make friends ever because everyone is married and works fulltime. Being a hikki is no longer something you'll "grow out of", you're a pathetic social deviant. If you don't have experience, both jobs and women start to become shut off to you for good.

Seriously it's the difference between Touhou on easy modo and lunatic. You could have a great life as a teen and still end up this way, but I feel bad for people who are willingly giving up all those nice things during the easy years.

Nope, I'd say early-mid 20s is the best. I'm 19 BTW.

>>All your income is disposable, you have lots of chances to meet people (school, the mall, your job, whatever).

If you live in a suburb it's harder to get around without a car, drivers licenses and the ability your shitty family can use that as a damocles, you have to be driven around all when younger (or get older friends/etc, which works as I know ive done that recently), you have to deal with more restrictions from your family with going out aand staying out all night if you have shitty parents, etc etc.

I live in a large city but I know how some suburban white hikkis can end up socially disconnected as I talk to them online/know some IRL.

>>And not having a job when you're a teenager is not a big deal. If you think it's hard as a teen then you have no idea.

I'm 19, and I'd say I'm better off in college than in HS. In some ways, in other ways I regret not doing other things (but that was due to shitty family)

>>When you're past your early twenties it becomes almost impossible to make friends ever because everyone is married and works fulltime.

Anime conventions & sci-fi cons? I don't know as I'm not past my early 20s & I will probably go onto graduate school. Oh, in western countries people marry/work fulltime later in life (see the 'graduate schooll' thing)

Not him, but teenage years were shit being eighteen through current twenty one was my most enjoyable time being a NEET. I've been a NEET since sixteen. Early twenties depending on your situation is the best time to be a NEET. You're an adult so you can handle your own shit. No more "listen to your parents" or having adults try and give you shitty advice and treating you like a teenager or a child.

My childhood was enjoyable and very colorful, but in the end being an adult is better. I'm a NEET who lives on their own, so obviously I wouldn't want to be a teenager living with their parents.

Friends? I guess as I am at school I talk to a little bit of people but that's it. In fact I never had friends outside of school. I don't even know what a close friendship with anyone is like but I've ;earned a lot about the world from the side lines. That it's a fake, colorless, and dull world where the boys are dicks and the girls are stupid. Where the old people are always assholes to you just because you're younger and the adults talk down to you like you're stupid. It's a world where there is no real lasting value. You live, work, and die knowing you didn't really get anywhere, you just got a lot of money. In my time alone I've become friends with myself and learned more about myself than I even thought possible. I hate so called real people and still wish just one "real" person could be my boy/girlfriend for life but I know that will most likely never happen. I'll always be like this and when I die I want be body cremated and my tomb stone to have a giant middle finger on it and under it would to the common people of the world.

If it was not for the anime culture I would be more of a hardcore star wars fan honestly. I am, but anime well distracted me when I was deep into the canon verses in arguing over obscure shit & I had some bad experiences with a fan forum. I still have my old knowledge & read up on the EU even while being a weeaboo and I now am increasing that again.

tl;dr I'd read star wars novels and branch out into 40K & Asimov etc science fiction earlier than I would have done now (my uncle was the same, he was born in the 1950s & he read a shitload of Asimov & other sci-fi novels when he was younger).

Also, some of us would've congregated around phone phreaking (the more tech-competent or accessible people) and related cultures. (think the old TOTSE dialup BBS when the textfiles werent oudated and the posters weren't all raging tough gut faggots)

ITT: people don't understand the definition of NEET/hikki

High school is when you're likely to become a true hikki because that's when you have to deal with like peer pressure and bullying (and in Japan, academic pressure) while society forces you to keep going to school and dealing with it (until some people can't put up with it and become hikkis). Once you're an adult there's nothing forcing you to do anything, so unless you have severe social anxiety disorder, you probably aren't a hikki. Besides, there are 'tribes' of otaku who meet IRL even in american cities etc etc (Brazil has a huge-ass anime con in Sao Paolo)

It's not that which is a problem (in larger cities people care less about that, those in fundamentalists regions/cities I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but.....)

"You must first obtain a frilly dress, a matching hat, and other accessory wear such as knee socks, thighhighs, ribbons, pantyhose etc. Take your time to choose, because this will be your signature wear after you complete the initiation ceremony. Also obtain the following flowers, preferably fresh: white lilac for youthful innocence, sunflower and daisy for purity, white violet for modesty. Further, you need a branch of snapping hazel to provide the magical energy needed for the next step. After those are complete buy or construct a shakokidogu figure. Break the eyes of this figure, grind all the plants you collected into a fine paste, add a drop of your own blood into that paste and pour it all into the statue. "

"The figure is that of Arahabaki, a pre-Shinto local deity of which worship was banned. Arahabaki's portfolio is 2D, and its worshippers, seeking to attain a pure form in shape of young 2D maidens, are called otaku. Despite being banned, his worship continued secretly in what is now Akihabara. In fact, Akihabara is obviously just an anagram of Arahabaki. By adding your own blood to the figurine, you have turned it into an effigy of yourself. "

"Now, you must pray to Arahabaki, and hope he answers. By summoning Arahabaki and with help of the flowers you have chosen, you will turn this doll into a girl, and by sympathetic magic you too will join the ranks of otaku as a cute girl, immortal and eternally young so long as your statue remains unbroken. However, the transformation is often flawed (/jp/ Department of Magic is still working on perfecting the ritual) and you may end up somewhat changed. If lucky, you'll just find that you now have a verbal tic you keep repeating at the end of your sentences, but we have a few cases of normal Anonymous (well, as normal as Anonymous can get) turning into psychotic stalker lesbians. The computer work is minimal, I'd say between 3,000 and 7,000 per year under the table. I spend all of this on computer parts or other entertainment items.
Most of the time its pascal/c/c++ bugfixes for legacy products I worked on before in college, but sometimes its websites or things like that.
My mortgage was ~1200 before I paid off the house and I rent it for 3600 total. I live around 150 miles away in a studio I rent for $400 a month.
Yes, you will always have problems with tenants, but I pay someone I know to take care of all the house related things like maintenance and repair.
If you have a lot of starting capital, or know people in the right businesses you can make quite a bit of money. My family runs a furniture repair business, so I was able to get nice designer furniture at cost to make the house appeal to students.
The housing market is down right now, so I was thinking about working to buy another house that my parent's friend owns in the same area.

overall I live, but its far from grand.

The lolis I mentioned were 2D.

And it's pretty much an age/class issue, in real life.

Rich people are generally very conservative, middle-class is not very but still conversative in most places, and poor people are either religious nutjobs or they don't give a shit. That is, the adults.

Most teenagers here are total sluts, and they typically lose their virginity at age 11~13. If they're richer, they tend to lose it later. But most middle class girls also lose it around 12~14, so I guess that's a latin american differential from white american middle-class families.

>>Isn't it easy to get lolis in the favelas? Or the more 'underveloped' amazon regions? And don't people care lss about 20 year olds screwing 12-14 year olds in Brazil?

The age of consent here is 14, so that extends to our culture, somewhat. The girls are whores, so you can pretty much fuck them everywhere in Brazil. Again, that doesn't happen with actually rich girls. Also, ironically, the media here is very conservative, so while every person may be total whores/mansluts who get AIDs at 13, they will paint anyone who had sex with them as monsters. We're still a catholic country, so it gets more conservative according to the money people possess (and the media has a lot of it).

And yes, people care less about things such as 20+ year olds dating 14 year olds. However, if you were to tell them you fap to drawings of "little kids", they would probably lynch you on the spot, want you to be killed in jail, call you a disgusting monster, etc.

Other anons, don't get me wrong. I'm a NEET, a virgin, and I only have interest in my pure 2D waifus (that's why I'm in /jp/ since the split), but that's how things are here.

Seriously, why don't we just celebrate a group 20th birthday in November or something? It's not like our parents or close ones have any emotional vested interest in us anymore. I mean morally. Most middle-class families don't want their daughters fucking at 14, but they aren't going to force them to stop seeing their boyfriend, they will just enforce the daughter to always use condoms and get to know her boyfriend very well. There are also the cases where the family doesn't allow it, but that ends up making the girls sluttier, because they just do everything hidden from their parents and spend a lot of time away from home.

>>How later?

Depends. Generally 18+, by the girl's own choice. In extreme cases, it is the family that dictates it, so only after marriage.
