I think they get ugly more around 11-14, really. It depends on the person. By the time they're 14 more of them are already ugly, there are a select few who will still be fine. At 11 years old you'd still imagine a pretty little girl, but some of them can be ugly beyond belief thanks to early ravages of puberty. I think 7-10 is a safe zone.

And I still believe that everyone is overreacting this shit. Everyone knows that Ishihara is a senile idiot, everyone knows that forbidding anime/manga sales to whoever is going to hurt Japan pretty bad, everyone knows that nobody but those old people who voted it are going to accept it - so why care? I believe it's highly probably that on these six months left until this law possibly starts being followed, something will happen that will negate it. The reason? Everything I've just said, and maybe even more things. There's no way the mangakas and publishers are just going to sit and wait until they can't do anything anymore. Hell, the boycott proves that.

There's also the fact that it's possible that more "banned" anime will be green-lit for next year, which most likely doesn't have anything to do with this law but is still hilariously related to it.
