Tank it easy!!

World of Tanks is a WW2-Tank MMO with customizable tank skins that a lot of /jp/ers play (more than any other board). The game is currently in Closed Beta, which will end in 5 days and then the Open Beta will start.

Some previously unknown information about Open Beta:

Everything from Closed Beta will be hardwiped (yes, everything).
Once Open Beta starts (scheduled for 27th January) you'll get into the game without stupid keys (as if they've ever been an issue to get) and there'll be 250 Gold/day. Yes, 100 additional gold.

Also they're working on Tier 8 Arty and (unfortunately) French Tanks.

Tank Skins Editing:
1. Find your tank in C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_closed_Beta\res\vehicles
2. Have .dds supported image editing software such as GIMP or Photoshop with a dds plugin.
3. Backup, edit, save, restart WoT to take effect.

Crew Faces Editing:
1. Find your crew in C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_closed_Beta\res\gui\maps\icons\tankmen\icons (There are 3 files which all must be altered)
2. Do not forget to backup before.
3. For Barracks and Small images, Shrink your replacement image to 100x60 (Keep your image ratio by changing the image size for the larger variable, then changing the canvas size, or it'll look like shit)
4. For the large image, make it 158x118
5. Save as .tga IN ALL 3 FOLDERS and restart WoT

Nations and other Logos Editing:
1. Find the file in C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_closed_Beta\res\particles\Decals\graffiti_stickers.dds
2. Backup, edit, save, restart WoT to take effect.

Back to the topic: I "love" how every single time I was about to get Top Gun I've been stopped shortly before. Mostly it was the enemy team that ran out of tanks for me to kill, this time around the fucking schoolbus decided to be the cause of all my hate.

Remember when you could safely assume that TD's would be at range? Going into an alley, minding your own business and suddenly encountering an Object 704 blowing his load into your face is getting kinda frustrating.
