Each could be read singularly even though you should read them in order.

Except Steel ball run which is like a reboot and should be read last.

And its not balls to the walls constant, I can't remember if its arc 4 or 5 thats been dubbed "slice of life" jojo, but that was a more mystery and character driven arc with some fun characters like The mangaka's self insert.
