Done testing. It does lockup after a few games but the netplay is real smooth now. I had no trouble doing dial-A->66A->Witch Leyline due to lag/delay. Most people who had trouble hosting with the prior versions (like me) should be able to host now.

To show how good it is now, I was playing Aki(EU) and the game felt super smooth, as if I was playing someone on the East Coast with just Soku but still better, with very small and barely noticable jitters here and there.

That's where you slam down on the 2card blue barrier SC. You get to fish for a potential 2k+ counterhit via rocket dive, and if that fails and you have to activate the SC you get in on him to potentially either crush him and follow up for 2k+ damage or catch him escaping for 3k+ damage.

The reward far outweighs the risk.

I'm used to 0 lag, too. But I made a lot of mistakes. The friends I play it with stopped playing with me because they usually lose.

I have no way to gauge myself in that regard. I was getting frustrated at moves my hands kept doing instinctively rather than stuff I wanted. I'd still say you're better though. I would've kept playing until you quit, like you did. Only way to get better.

Which part of the US are you in? The lag was ff. I'm up in Alaska.

I think you meant imaginary vertical time, not parallel brain but it can be used a preemptive counter against characters with slow normal moves. It doesn't have invincibility but the knives don't disappear when Sakuya is hit and they come out fairly quickly. If my opponent hits me right after I activate it they usually won't be able to recover in time to block, especially if it's a slow character like Okuu.

GGs. Keep those Sakuya strings a lot tighter. Don't forget that her 3A is special cancellable and will catch people trying to BE. You might want to be a lot more careful with your spirit too, especially when people are running cards that are designed to drain/break.

The way you try to play the game is going to have a big impact.
Pretty large generalization but...
Run around trying to melee people = success
Shoot bullets like its touhou = fail.

ggs. If you think that a press is too tight for you to escape (e.g. Sakuya's knife press or Tenshi's drill press), and can't jump out, try to border escape. The easiest input is bottom-back DD while you are blocking (preferably a bullet), and that should help you getting out... a bit.

As good as my zoning is, I realized just how shit my execution is recently. I suppose it's alright since I can just zone and build meter until I land a legit lifeswap or halflife, but a lot of other situations? I drop them. A lot. I'm aware that my execution is poor, but I'm also having a hard time actually increasing it. Pretty frustrating sometimes. Gotta climb that mountain little by little~

Don't even get me started on those 623Cs. Every time the animation went off and you still somehow hit me out of them, I died a little inside. I also forgot that 6C 623C isn't as safe against Youmu as it is against everybody else because her sword doesn't have a hitbox. Annoying.

Good games again Tangential! I gotta go for good this time. Its way hard for me to punish your 5C 623C to punish as I can't tell at what point you're going to cancel into the fanspin. My only hope is to have an appropriate spellcard to hit you when i see it at a long distance. Often i'd rush in and throw the lowpokes but with the hitboxes it whiffs anyways. I also had to smarten up against your air game with the j.2A that always caught me dashing under you.

It's been several weeks since I've played this game, not sure if you noticed but at the end of that before I switched to Suika I played a very aggressive Suwako and won. It takes me a few gears before I realize what I'm supposed to be doing with a character even if I main them. That keep away play you saw me doing was me giving myself room to try and think then remember how I used to play.

Not sure since I have only a sample size of two, but from the little I've tried, not great. It looks like they 'fixed' the wireless problem by increasing the delay by geometric factors if it detects any stuttering at all. Unless the other guy was torrenting or something, cross US connection went from Caster delay 6 to Caster delay 13. The other person that tried to connect to me was in Singapore with a ping of about 450 ms. Equally retarded.

It doesn't lock up after the first match now but it still seems quite unstable with random lockups every now and then. Doesn't yet seem worth the hassle when playing with people on the same continent. The delay seems quite a bit lower from usual, although I've yet to play against people from other continents.

The crossup worked because you weren't actually in the corner you were just very close to it. Reisen's pushbox is very low as she is recovering which allowed me to go over you and squeeze into the tiny gap between you and the corner. Next time you want to recover in the corner it might be better to tech backwards so that you won't be crossed up.

GGs, haven't played against an Aya in a long time. I'd highly suggest taking the fans out of your deck though. Aya's mobility is already one of the best and they give her almost no bonus at all compared to what characters like Okuu and Iku get. You also weren't using any of her real corner combos, especially her AAAB6C9D(1/2D) mixup which usually gives people hives. It becomes a real nightmare to deal with if you're using her crossup alt 214 too. You should be careful running with her default 214 so heavily too. Faster characters can BE it and punish from any kind of block. She can also extend her basic BnB against bigger characters like Yuyu as I think AAAB9j.Aj.2B66j.A5AAA etc.

At upper levels, Yuyu vs Aya is pretty lopsided, but it's not because of how either of us were playing. Yuyu is gimpy under pressure and that's where Aya shines. At neutral, Yuyu eviscerates Aya. You needed to stay on the ground and keep the pressure up more and maybe BE backwards instead of trying to jump away from everything. Yuyu's 6A has monster range and even on block can be confirmed into just about any kind of safe pressure.

Thanks a lot for the advice, very useful. I only started playing more "seriously" recently and didn't bother fixing my deck yet, but I gotta agree about the fans. Wrote down those combos for later, I didn't get to spend any time in training mode yet so I've been improvising most combos or strings, which can only go so far..

I might switch aya crusher for the 214 crossup, will have to experiment.

Just FYI, the crossup is only reliable when you're controlling things. Its hit box can be really touchy so it takes a lot of getting used to. I'd also suggest sticking with her default 236 with even using cards to power it up more for the extra damage and waves on air to ground. AAAB6C236B is one of her core BnBs that is usable anywhere. Also look into her crows spellcard. It can be confirmed off of AAAB6C (timing's really tight) and does almost as much as her 5 Card. The two card tornado also confirms off of AAAB from almost anywhere and you can tack a j.236B onto the end of it for a little more damage. I like rolling with her dive kick j.22 more than the Bison stomp, but mostly because it's quick and can be used as either melee or projectile.

The Aya crossup still has the weakness of being a bullet. If you use it, you don't have any melee skill to end a string with, unless you run stomp which wouldn't still help because it's a free dash-under anyways. Not saying you can't use it of course, but there are downsides. Of course tk'd melee works too rather large extent too but can be tricky when you need to tag someone midscreen. Though I guess tk'd Downburst could fill a gap there too.

Oh yeah, alt corner BnB to keep people on their toes between projectiles and melee is AAAA6B9j.Aj,2Bj.236B I think. I haven't played Aya in quite awhile.

You should stick to a character you know instead of choosing random. You should also be blocking a lot more and when you do block you shouldn't border escape the first chance you get. Not all spellcards have invincibility and even if you're using one of the few that do you shouldn't be throwing them out randomly hoping that they'll hit. It would help to learn some real blockstrings too. Whenever you had me blocking in the corner it seemed like you didn't know what to do. The most important thing you should do if you want to improve is to learn from your losses. When you lose think about why you lost and make sure you don't make the same mistakes again. Also, combos aren't that important; learning the fundamentals of the game will help you a lot more than learning combos.
