OH JAPAN

Whichever I can buy in bulk for the cheapest. That usually means Nissin boes of 100.

Living on welfare sucks.

I don't get it. The korean stuff generally tastes better than the Japanese stuff, too.

>> No.7188039

Dont really have a favorite brand of ramen, just whatever I see first (unless I've tried it before and know I dont like it). As for snack food... probably hi-chew.

Eh, I usually prefer Japanese ramen to Korean; guess it's just personal opinion. I will buy korean ramen if its the only stuff at the store/I feel like eating spicy ramen (I dont know of any good, spicy japanese instant ramen).

>> No.7188059

What's a Japanese instant ramen brand?

I get the korean ones because they come in big bowls and they're cheap.

Food stamps? My family ended up applying for that a few months ago. They ended up sending us a card that you use like a credit card. It's actually really nice and the amount they allow us per month seems very generous, especially if you're able to actually cook and not rely on pre-made foods.

They also taste worse.

How does /jp/ eat/cook their ramen? Do you guys put anything in it, or just eat the ramen itself?

I personally drop some corn in there while im cooking it, and occasionally put some leftover chicken in there if I'm making it with a chicken base.

Not everybody lives in the US. Anyway, having been without a job for 6 and a half months, I take what I can get. I've got bills, cigarettes, coffee purchase (absurd amounts of it), motorbike gasoline and shit from Japan to import, nutrition comes last.

I live on a measly €330/mo. At least I don't pay rent.

For future reference, all "sages" in /jp/ are assumed to be off-topic posts. Anyone using it for something else vastly misunderstands the function.

No need to announce when or why you use sage.

Shin Ramen isn't that bad in my opinion.

The fact that the rest of 4chan misunderstands sage, doesn't mean /jp/ does. Here, all sages are assumed polite.

You are incorrect. Autism etc.

This would be true if /jp/ was smart enough to completely ignore shitty threads, instead of justifying replying to them with "at least I'm not bumping it". Unfortunately, this happens too often to assume all saging is for off-topic posting.

>> No.7188115

Nobody in this thread said that, though. The OPs image is clearly from Japan and I don't think he was explicitly saying it was bad, just that Japan obviously thinks its bad.

How does one live off ramen without getting sick of it? Even adding egg doesn't help.

>> No.7188156

>>7188111
While true (and not necessarily incorrect usage), it should be pretty easy to deduce from the post's style and content whether or not the sage is "hostile".

Sorry for that. I tend to eat sausages or meatballs with my instant ramen. Not so good, but I usually have those handy, and instant ramen isn't exactly proper food anyway.

>> No.7188165

>>7188147
One doesn't, one learns to also make other things. But, I've gone through times when I've had no money at all and ramen is cheap as fuck, so its just something you learn to do. If you make it with enough variety (eg. buy bulk chicken, fish, etc to put in it for cheap) it can be okay, but it definitely isn't something I'd just decide to do unless I needed to.

Even then, I still eat ramen quite a bit. The key is variety.

Let's get this shit back on track.

I've recommended it before, and I'll recommend it again. After boiling your ramen, empty out the water (I like taking so little water that all the water has vaporized by the time it's boiled), add an egg to it, and maybe some milk, and mix around while boiling, until there's no more liquid. It tastes awesome if right, and should give you a lot more energy than just a normal bowl of ramen.
