Upload/request music using your browser: http://skully.hopto.org

Listen to the stream using your music player: http://skully.hopto.org:8000
If it lags/fails, please connect manually to one of the relays in the second post.

FAQ: http://skully.hopto.org/playing.php?page=faq

IRC: irc.rizon.net #jp-radio

If the stream is full, please connect to one of the relay servers.
More information about the stream is in the second post.

>> No.7422215

As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

To connect to relays, please visit http://skully.hopto.org/playing.php?page=relays

You can still submit logo's for the website. Make sure it's 300x100 and I'll make sure it's in the rotation.

Also, if you'd like to join our Skype chatroom, you can search for Jaypee Radio. Once you add that account, you should be accepted to the chatroom shortly. It may also be a nice idea to let us know in the thread that you've added the radio account, so we can get to your request faster.

/jp/ Radio is created for /jp/, by /jp/. If you guys have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask them in this thread.

Take it easy, Anon.
Enjoy the stream!

>> No.7424691

So, as of the 3th of june, it's been a year since I set up /jp/ radio. On the day of setting it up, I've never thought my little stream would last for a whole year. From a simple touhou music stream project, to a small station with the purpose of streaming related and non-related /jp/ music. From a shitty little program run by my main computer to a dedicated Windows XP 'server' running a website with features added and still to be add.

I could talk on and on about the history of /jp/ radio, how it was set up, but I don't think anyone cares. What I do want to talk about is, about who else made this stream possible. The listeners, my friends and Japanese Bird in particular. I can't run a stream without listeners or friends to support me, but Japanese Bird, a.k.a. my stalker, was/is responsible for moderating the stream while I'm asleep or away, providing music, icons and other icons, replying to you guys in threads, notify me about stuff, giving me tips on what we should do with the stream and a whole bunch of other stuff. Thank you.

As of now, by popular demand, /jp/ radio is accepting donations. You can find the button below the menu. Feel free to pass the stream some money if think it is deserved. We will resume to provide you with music whether you donate or not. We will resume to add features and upgrade the server over time, until I get sued or something. Thank you for your support.

A question to Pyonta/Yandere:
Is there any way to access the statistic data of the stream?
It would be most interesting to know wich is the most requested song, the longest one uploaded, the most skipped, etcetera.

>> No.7425930

>Dio - Holy Diver

Well, that's funny. Just yesterday, I was thinking about uploading this, but eventually dropped that idea. I didn't know that it's already uploaded.

>> No.7425959

>>7424691
Oh wow, has it really been that long? Time really does fly. It's been pretty fun here, and I've enjoyed helping out with the stream and just listening in. I've made some pretty close friends from the stream's chatroom and really do appreciate the listeners that tune in to keep the stream running, and the work Pyonta has put in to set it all up.

I remember when it was just a ugly black interface with queues so long that you'd have to wait half a day before you can hear your request.

But I suppose that's enough getting sappy.

Keep takin it easy, guys.

By the way, excuse the temporary name. Skype chatroom knows why.

>>7425860
Such info is indeed stored on the server, however we do not have it set up for public access. We never really thought anyone would find it interesting anyway. We used to have the top10 requested songs displayed on the site, but it lead to people over requesting the same songs so they can bump it up the ranking. So we removed it, to encourage requesting what you want to listen to rather than just trying to bump up the experience points of a song.

So, as of the 3th of june, it's been 18 years since we started Boris. On the day we first got together to jam, we've never thought our little band would last for over a decade. From a simple doom project, to a small band with the purpose of perfecting related and non-related metal music. From shitty little EPs recorded on cassette by some junkie down the street to artfully mastered 'albums' crossing more and more genre boundaries with each release.

We could talk on and on about the history of Boris, how we came together, but we don't think anyone cares. What we do want to talk about is, about who else made this band possible. The fans, our friends and those faggots who upload our music to /jp/ radio in particular. We can't get gigs without fans or friends to support us, but those homosexual uploaders a.k.a. men amongst men, were/are responsible for bringing our music to the ears of NEETs worldwide, providing tears from the butthurt unworthy masses, taking time to upload Absolutego and other long as shit albums, trolling you guys in threads, notify you about releases, giving us tips on what genre we should rip apart and reconstruct next and a whole bunch of other stuff. Thank you.

As of now, by popular demand, Boris is touring the world. You can find our tour dates somewhere in a series of tubes. Feel free to spend some money and buy a ticket if you want to get your cock rocked off. We will resume to produce loudly awesome music which will be uploaded whether you like it or not. We will resume to experiment and expand our musical horizons over time, until we hit the top 40 and kill ourselves or something. Thank you for your support.
