what's the point in that? Shurelia can't use the location signal that the tower creates for her when she's not wearing her Linker suit. Even if she had a map, she wouldn't be able to figure out where she is unless she did things the old fashioned way.

Oh yeah, speaking of which, we're still waiting for a drawer to make a pic of Shurelia running away from Sasha (who's trying to fix her) while tripping and crying.

>>7774840
I'm sorry, but has Luca even engaged in sexual intercourse? Oh, that’s right. She hasn't even made contact with a man outside of dive therapy. In fact, it’s only therapy involving fields for soothing. Does not having a cliche tsundere personality make you a slut? Is that what you’re saying? Because if you’re saying that I can assure you that you’re wrong. Why would you make this topic when the game is already finished and we know for certain she is pure? Luca is a holy maiden now and she was been the purest maiden in Metafalss? Luca has to go up against one of the sluttiest reyvateils in Ar Ciel who just happened to have a lead because she was praying on Croix's innocence. But you know what? Cloche is still a whore. Luca is the best heroine in all three games, she has the best songs. Luca has already won Croix over, she would have done it sooner if it wasn't for her tragedy with her sister throwing her for a mental loop. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when Luca is proven a better waifu than any other in AT2. Cloche tries to latch on to anyone who would have shown her a different and free life. Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I’m fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you’re the only guy making all these anti-Luca topics because you’re a faggot hater who doesn’t like a heroine because they’re canonically pure. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fucking idiots on the board, like I give a fuck. It’s so easy to spot out your threads now, you’re a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don’t you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That’s just you, you’re always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.

You can grab the latest SVN builds here: http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/

The graphics issues that's in the latest builds, but not r4804 is that when character images appear on the right side of the screen there's a black bar over their faces. (The best way to test this is to start a new game, then go to the first scene with Cloche and Leglius in the resort, and Cloche will have a bar over her face)

There's also small black lines that appear on all the sprites, but I haven't worked out which build & plugin combo fixes that yet.

I got the 300 levels one, since I was approaching level 99. Even tho levels stop giving a lot of stat points(you'll gain no HP and AP, only item points, and exactly 1 point per level in all other stats), it does eventually stack up, and atleast it's always 9.999.999 exp to level, and never more(I.E. 1 shiva). Owch... I'm probably going to stockpile most of my cole over two runs and grab the millionaire ending last.

Although getting the Astrid end means working like a maniac for the first two years, oddly enough it was enjoyable. It felt like you were Rorona with all the pressure of keeping track of time, spamming out requests as quickly as possible and not burning through your wallet. Once I had the ending conditions nailed half way into the 3rd year, it was such a huge massive relief (especially given 3 of the 3rd year assignments were just lol easy) and really felt like an accomplishment.

A good 80% of the trophies are unmissable. The only things you can screw up in a single playthrough are:
1)Make a goddess(which one doesn't really matter) die too much, don't have enough stocks to unlock one of the goddesses'(can be any one of the three that aren't Nep) last event, which needs 60% stocks.
2)Miss a monster that only appears in a story dungeon.
3)Get true ending before normal/bad ending, since you need to get the final boss of normal/bad ending(it's the same for both, so you only need normal or bad.
Other than that, get a combo of 100(easy), resurrect 20 dead people with item skills(easy), watch every event(a bit time consuming if you don't skip, but it's events), get S in every dungeon (times are VERY VERY lax), meet every monster(and there's 4 tops per dungeon, with tons of repeats, you're likely to meet most without even trying), get true ending, and you're done.
Once you finish the game, you can literally go to landmass X, do every dungeon finding every monster and getting S rating in one run, max shares if you haven't yet to recruit/get last event(grind a 1-minute dungeon for a bit, at worst), move to next landmass in 1 hour tops, rinse and repeat until you get to Planeptune, get true ending, platinum.
If you are locked out, it's simple enough to do it in new game +, event/dungeon/monster completion carries over, stocks get reset, and you can skip all events and skim thru dungeons with endgame equipment/levels.

tl,dr: Yes, platinum is easy, there's a few missables but new game+ is a cakewalk.

So far I've only platinum'd Bayonetta, RE5, FFXIII(yay grinding for money!) and Neptunia. Next I'm trying for Way of The Samurai 3 that is a glorious game, then I'm starting Catherine and seeing how it is. I will never, ever, platinum Cross Edge(collect everything ever) or Trinity Universe(1.000.000 evaluation points grinded at 3k per dungeon). Or Star Ocean 4 and its 900 battle trophies. Or Yakuza 3 and its Minigame master.

>> No.7786341

I still think that anyone who has achieved platinum for Star Ocean 4 is insane or legitimately autistic. The battle trophies alone require far more effort than getting platinum for other games.

How to platinum Rorona:
1)Play and finish the game normally until you get tired of it, getting all the endings you really care about getting.
2)download save with all endings accessible from Gamefaqs.
3)view all other endings from that save.

That is, if you don't want to become mad from requirements, schedules, and random chance.

Rorona isn't hard in the traditional sense. It's hard because unless you are using a guide it's unlikely you're going to know what you need to do if you are attempting the 'true' ending on your first attempt. Hence the suggestion that Rorona is at least a 2 playthrough game. First is to just kick back and enjoy the game and characters for what it is, then a second run to nail as many endings as possible.

There's a huge number of character events and special events which occur under certain timing conditions that you need to hit if you want to have enough time to get the 'true' ending.

The Astrid/'true' ending is 'difficult' only because it's so darn stressful for the first 2 years when you're trying as hard as possible to make sure you have enough time to complete all of the events. One of the character events for example knocks them out of the game for 80 days and they need to come back for you to check off the 'all clear'.

Most of the game is just pure common sense. Try to synth items in multiples where you don't waste parts of days, don't accept/attempt requests which cost too many days to synth or complete. Make every trip to gather materials as productive as possible and don't be afraid to burn some cash if you can save time.

It wouldn't be so bad if
A)there weren't 900.
B)some of them didn't need multiple playthroughs in a game where one is pretty long.
C)they weren't mixed with 'kill 30000 monsters with a single character' with two characters, 'kill a bunch of super-time-consuming-to-kill monsters' with another character, and 'kill the ultimate boss with a character that can't really do much damage'.
But I guess that the fact that they're 900 means they have to be a bit of everything.

But personally, I think Yakuza 3 is pretty horrible too. You have to 'clear' all the minigames in the game, which are a lot(less in the west than in Japan, and thankfully that means no shogi), and for all of those that have a versus, it means beating the CPU at max level in all subgames. So you have to beat the CPU in Pool against an opponent that can bunk at 2 cm from the table and hit 10 holes in a row, or win all darts variants against an opponent that can do 3 triple-20 in a row quite easily. And then there's golf, bowling, karaoke(perfect all songs), etc.etc. It requires you to have a bunch of different skills, and all of them at perfect levels.

Thankfully, the sequel has no similar trophy.

Then, at checkout, I realized I was paying 27 dollars for 'shipping and handling',(and they kept 15 dollars for customs, but that's a good thing since it means that if stopped at customs, they just pay for it and I don't have to wait for the custom assholes to send me a letter, make me wait 2 weeks, open my package, and charge me for the letter too).
I thought to myself: I'm paying 27 dollars for shipping, maybe there's something else I can buy and make them ship at the same time. And bam, Totori was out on the 27. And so, I preordered the limited edition and it will probably arrive by the first days of october.

Just counting this gen(since the PS2 backlog is FREAKING huge), Resonance of Fate to start(duh), Yakuza 4 at the end of first character, Rorona before the first assignment, Killzone 3 past the first set of missions, Dragon Age Origins in the middle of the game, Dragon Age 2 to start, AT3 to start, Catherine to start(probably the next one), Nier at the mechanical factory, White Knight Chronicles at 3 maps done, Disgaea 3 at chapter 3, and Cross Edge just before the first true ending trigger, for PS3. Currently I'm playing Way of The Samurai 3 as I said some posts ago. It's very very good and I paid it about 20€, new.

On 360, I have Infinite Undiscovery actually pretty far in the second disc and that I should probably finish, Star Ocean 4 after the mothership, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, The Last Remnant not even started.

I don't know how exactly the game managed to do it, but after the initial "oh god, how am I ever gonna finish this?" phase, Neptunia is now actually creating some sort of fun while playing and makes me want to continue till the end.

I suppose getting Neptune Break and being able to finish most fights in the first combo round really did help make it more bearable. Or maybe it's just me wanting to finally get Noire into my party so that I can make her perfect (read: equip cat ears). Who knows?

And while we're at the topic: did anyone bother buying the character DLCs? Getting the 5pb one is somewhat tempting, but I suppose there would be no end to the remorse if I spent those EUR 4,- on it ...

At least I beat Agarests true ending and had fun with it. Where as I didnt even get the true ending on Neptunia and couldent bother to play it over.
The way I see it Agarest was a more fun game with better characters and a surprisingly better story. Although that isn't saying Agarest was superb cause it was mediocre at best.
It was just a more quality game than Neptunia. Feel free to argue with my opinion because I know you are anyway.

Well, if you've not finished the game, they're good addictions. They had a lot of new events each, I'd say about 15. The scenes have only 5pb and IF, or Red and IF respectively, and are better animated than the other scenes. No english voices, however, only the japanese ones(so no moving mouths either, if you're using english voices, but they do move if you're using japanese ones). Only exception is a scene in which Nisa appears for one panel, but saying nothing. As far as battle ability goes, Red has good weapons and is a decent physical character that can hit whole groups, but has nothing special and doesn't transform, so she's pretty useless later on. 5pb is more of a magical fighter, has can hit groups too, and has the only healing attack in the game(which is Tier 4 attack that costs 60 AP and will heal the front line to full). She's quite more useful for that reason alone.
By the way, if you want my opinion on DLCs in general, Nisa is a pretty good character to have, since she hits bosses very hard and is perfect for guard breaks. She's slow, but if she doesn't start frontline, it doesn't matter. Gust is pretty much an alternative to Compa in terms of healing, which much, much better staying power, but some of her heals are a bit tricky to use. I wouldn't waste money on other DLCs except the ones who give AP or HP to the characters you use, since past some level, those are the only stats that will not grow anymore, and 15 AP can mean a lot even later on, while 1500 hp on a goddess can mean a lot more survivability for keeping your stocks. By the way, I think they didn't release some of the final upgrades in Europe, like Green Heart's and White Heart's. I'd skip all costumes and processors unless you want a cosmetic change, maybe except the santa set. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that both the mail and devil processor parts are VERY bad. I wonder WTF where they smoking when they tried to(read: didn't) balance processors in general, really.

Nah man, we(I) respect your opinions. Personally I steered clear of Agarest only because the concept itself of the game didn't hit me as interesting. That and I live in Europe, so it's either buy the horrible Ghostlight version, or download from PSN where my european money is no good. Ironically, the other day I went to Gamestop, and they, very randomly, had an import copy of Agarest Zero. Why, of all things, they would have a copy of that, and Catherine(which made more sense, in my eyes), while they usually never import anything, is beyond me. Next thing I know, next week they'll be stocking Disgaea 4.

Finally finished Phase 3 of Melody of Elemia, was rather disappointed.

Went through all 5 levels of Shurelia's Binary Field only to find out that you don't actually get any of the costumes. Since it isn't her Cosmosphere, it makes sense, but they could've at least included them even if it didn't change her stats.
Didn't even realize that about a third of Shurelia's talk topics could be missed until 6 hours after I've cleared the Binary Field, and it turned out that her 'ending' was only a slight edit of Aurica's original one.

Yes, it had the NA rating on the box, and I actually looked at the back. Also, it was right beside Catherine, that was definitely an import(I bought it). The only other new import I saw there ever was BlazBlue Calamity Trigger more than a year ago. I see some in the used bin, like... a japanese copy of Genji, but I guess those can be blunders they make accepting them. IDK either, and the guys at the shop sure didn't, so it's probably some obscure company policy.

>So how do you go about making these?

They're mostly hand-made, partly because I dislike the "bloat" that other programs add and partly because I wanted to learn more about the SVG format. I only use Inkscape to draw Bézier curves.
I start by enlarging the image to 1000px then apply a 2-4px Gaussian blur depending on the original resolution. The focal point is always a circle, so I compute the center point to center the image. I then set it as the background of my SVG template.

After that, as >>7805672 wrote, it's not rocket science. These images are mostly composed of simple geometric shapes and paths. I use grouping to duplicate repeated sections.
Surely it would be easier to just eyeball it in Illustrator, but my OCD prevents that. It may be a waste of time, but I still enjoy doing it. I'm glad that it makes others are happy as well.

Bloody Muppy. One of the more useful support defend actions but can barely earn his spot as a combatant. All of its innate skills are fire based damage, very little variety and the support attack is pretty bleh. Nikki couldn't hold her spot on my team as well because her innate skills relied on delayed attacks. Something I disliked when my strategy was to burn the MP pool as quickly as possible to maximise the regeneration and to support attack/defend as often as possible to keep everyone cycling in and out.

Jessica only made the team because she had a heal that created additional cards so she could be swapped out again and her on the spot synthesis were surprisingly effective. Roxis earned his keep in a very big way against a boss which created a huge crap load of attack cards. Erase those cards, problem solved.

After having Atelier Rorona since October 2010 and being on and off it, I FINALLY beat it this week. Damn. This game can be pretty tedious. I got the Adventurer Ending first (what I was aiming for all this time), then used the same save to get Cordelia's ending. I attempted to get Lionela's ending, only to realize later that I have to have "normal ending" stats to get hers and it's too late to lower my trust rating below 80. I can't get any other ending in fact, since my assignment score is too high and I missed an event with Gio.

On my second playthrough, I'm just going to go straight for Astrid Ending and not care too much about other endings; I'll just watch those on youtube or something. It's way too time-consuming to platinum this game. After I get Astrid Ending, I'll finally be prepped for Atelier Totori.

Also, what did you all think of the endings? Any you particularly liked? I personally thought the Adventurer Ending was pretty cool, especially the CG. Cordelia's ending was cute if only to see Cordelia wearing glasses.

The system data save file keeps track of which images you've unlocked, but the only times the game saves the system data is when you beat the game or when you make a change to the system settings (volume, language), so when you get to the end the only images you have is whatever you've seen since you most recent load. If you're going to play again and you want the CGs you see along the way to show up the gallery, just change the volume each time you get an image.

And if you're going to go for Astrid's ending it really wouldn't be too much trouble to get the rest of the character endings since you have to trigger all of the character flags anyway. I mean, yeah, it's much less trouble to just watch them YouTube, but I'm just sayin'.

Yeah, I know. But it's done through trust and assignment score manipulation, not to mention triggering/not triggering the flags in the right time. That's a lot of trouble and I just want to move on from this game already, especially when my backlog is already fat.

Let me tell you this: There are AT music batch torrents on Bakabt, both in FLAC and V0 MP3. Why not download from there if speed is your concern?

>> No.7812680

>>7812613
Download is not the problem. I already own most of the CDs. Upload is.

The whole point is to get FLAC rips of all the CDs (OST, Drama, Hymmnos Concerts and Musicals) up on MediaFire in one spot so that you don't have to run all over the place, grabbing torrents and praying that it's seeded or copy/pasting a zillion links.

Besides, this thread still has a few days left to run its course so it's not going to matter much if it does take me a little while to upload. Getting all of the music CDs up on MediaFire isn't a priority, but it would be 'nice' to have in the end. Condensing all of the current links to little bits and pieces is of greater concern.

Really? Sweet. None of my posts got taken, though I only ever made one or two. Well, here's a little service then. (Oh, Flute, you stalwart of the League of Rare Characters, it took me a second to remember your name just now... what a week.)

I'm from England, and I love Ar tonelico.
I discovered the games only a few months ago, but they're already my favorite series! I finally beat 3 the other day.
I love Cynthia!
My apology for my poor Japanese, I am still studying.
(I wish we had agepan in Britain)

Cynthia: Wow, I'm even really popular overseas. Go me!
I'm not just Kuu-kun's wife for show, y'know?

Croix: You never were my wife anyway.

Ar Ru: Can't you at least be lovey-dovey with Cynthia once at the end?
Lady Cloche worked so hard to do that for you, so you ought to be nice to Cynthia, too.

Soraneko: If that's the case, I think Senpai should be lovey-dovey for me, too.
Even though I know she always in inside when she's pretending to hard to get.

Luca: ...you two are going to keep it up right until the end, aren't you?
I guess you two are the only ones who aren't totally going to lose their character, huh?

Meimei: I think it'd be more accurate to say they'd already lost it from the beginning, don't you?

Falss: Not at all. Lyra really isn't any different than she was in the games, right?

Radolf: Well, that's because Lyra's still a child.
Sasha's the same, too; it's proof that they wouldn't do that to kids.

Flute: And we adults have changed quite a bit instead.

Jack: And you're a great example of that.
I guess most people wouldn't realize since you don't show up much, though.

In the interview in the visual book, right at the very end he says there are still many more tales to come from the world of Ar Ciel, such as what happens now that the sea of death is gone, and in toukousphere Tyria mentions that repairing Ar Tonelico to get rid of the blastline is 'the next big challenge we all face'

So this is the end of the main trilogy, but it's not likely the end for Ar Ciel.

Ideally, I'd like a series to give me exactly as much as I want, rather than leaving me wanting more or feeling that I've had too much.

As it stands with AT, I feel like there's too much about the world left unanswered. The series you mentioned is an odd example to pick, given that the majority of them are self contained; playing 1 of them or playing 15 of them makes no difference since they're (mostly) related by title only. Thus you can play the good ones and skip the shit ones and not be missing a thing, whereas in an actual series, skipping sections leaves a diminished understanding for the overall arc of the plot.

>> No.7821588

Yeah, comparing to Final Fantasy really doesn't hold up because each final fantasy by itself is a completely seperate game. AT games build up on each other and are all set in the same setting/world/timeframe.

There's a substantial difference in the quality of the voiced and unvoiced dialogue. The suspicion is that a lot of the voiced segments were cut because they simply ran out of time/budget and the jpn dialogue was trimmed to match.

Just because data is repeated doesn't mean it's dummy data. Often data on console discs is repeated multiple times to decrease load times significantly. (Like, minutes down to seconds.)

>> No.7822152 [DELETED]

>>7822133
I can see how that works, since Hibernation keeps playing for a long long time in a lot of areas it seems sensible to have a "copy" of the song for each area you pass through so the disc doesn't have to swap back and forth the whole time to keep loading the song into memory.

Still, that whole Raze->Ulrika bug makes it undesirable to play Raze's route first, unless there's a patch to fix it if you play it on the emulator.

>> No.7823512

>>7823440
Specifically, the bug is that when you play Raze's route first, and then go into Ulrika's route, there will be a quest boss in the beginning, a UFO pot or something. The game has a chance to lock up whenever his turn comes up ( because he has like 3 out of 4 moves that lock up the game ). So you can get around that bug by simply beating him before he gets his turn ( either by kicking the shit out of him or using delaying attacks ).
There's also a bug in Raze's route far into the game when you're fighting alongside Puniyo when somehow a character who's not even playable shows up as an option in the special attack choices, click that character and the game freezes. There's another glitch in the third storyline when having Ulrika as visible character when accepting quests where the game randomly locks up.
So yeah, annoying as that UFO pot glitch is, you CAN overcome it with a bit of planning

>> No.7823548

I did Raze's then Ulruka's and was blissfully ignorant of it. I was probably just lucky, but with the god armor and accessories that carry over, you should be able to beat almost everything through the first 50% of the second runs without them even getting a turn regardless.

>> No.7823753

>>7823621
Mana Khemia 1 and 2 have virtually no time management. The only critical part would be getting as high marks as possible in the assignments to buy as many 'free time' slots as possible so that you can do all the character events. To equate it in Rorona terms, you'll want to get 10 stars or close to 10 stars as possible with every assignment so that you have the option to finish all the character events or take up job requests for more cash.

Except for certain timed assignments, you are free to spend as much time as you want grinding, gathering materials, synthesising a storm, completing as much of your Grow Book as possible and fine tuning your equipment to the point where every one of your party members has their own optimally tuned set without worrying about time.

Unlike Rorona (which I think is kinda unique in this regard), base ingredients don't have their own innate traits which then transfer into the items. In MK, the traits on items appear depending on the Ether/quality level of the item with advanced items that require synthetised items inheriting pre-existing traits.

If anything, the MK series is incredibly soft management and synthesis wise and are a nice way to introduce people to the Atelier series.
