Read books or just lay around in the same spot for the entire day.

>> No.8253610

Figure out what happened to it, cobble together franken-machine computer and order a replacement part as soon as I can.

>> No.8253617

Try to figure out why it isn't turning on, obviously.

Get that old laptop from downstairs, hook it up, and continue as usual.
If that doesn't work, there's an old PC somewhere in the basement that should still work.
Failing that, just borrow my mother's computer for the time being.
And if that's no good, there's always mobile internet on my cellphone.
Gotta be prepared.

>> No.8253621

I get on my laptop.

One of my most cherished memories from this year was laying in bed on my laptop while my PC sat in safe mode copying files to another hard drive so I could reformat.

This doesn't work. Everyone on /jp/ has backups as their way of life depends on it.

The better question would be what would you do during a long blackout.

Once again, I go on my laptop. Once the battery runs out I'll go to a book store or something and buy a book.

Sleep, read some books or manga, or just go for a long walk in the woods.
Maybe draw if I'm in the mood.
I spent 16 years without internet while not being any more sociable than now, I can manage a blackout just fine.

>> No.8253678

Try to fix it. If it won't work, meditate until fate fixes it, gives me a new one or I die of malnutrition.

No dehydration, that's a fucking terrible death.

Depends on how good the batteries in my book lamp are by now. Read or listen to music.

Reminds me that I need to save up for a UPS. Weather gets more unpredictable this time of year

>> No.8253794

this scenario actually gives me a lot of anxiety. my palms literally get clammy when my computer takes a long time to log in because i had a computer fail at that point once.

when it's happened before, my sole mission in life becomes fixing that computer. three very horrifying experiences, let me assure you. i have old backup computers now to keep me online, just in case.

If that doesn't work, I get on my laptop.
If THAT doesn't work, I install an OS on another computer and use that.

I turn my head 90° and actually watch some non-sports programming on the TV that's always running during every waking moment of every single day... Silence of the Lambs is on (Bravo) right now. I don't keep extra PCs around anymore (it was too messy).
