Stupid that they decided to have major concentration of Touhou here. Also all the visual novels, gal geemus, "hikikomori" etc.
With those things this should actually be a fine place. But only like 3% are to those things.

/jp/ is very proud to be the closest link to original otaku culture here on 4chan. But it is on very popular site on the net and the interest/knowledge for things it stands for are so low, it becomes garbage can for people who don't fit other boards and still like anime in general. They drift down here.

During the time this place might evolve into a fine board with right people. But it might take some time.

I actually really wished that more quality posters (as opposed to people that accidentally click once and return and all of the spambots) would use the textboards. They're a lot better for actual discussion, sage works as it should, and quoting and other markup features are implemented. I actually talked with some mods in #4chan today about w4ch. They said that imageboards should be used for image dumping, in general, and textboards should be used for long-term, serious discussion. If you look at how the software is written, you'll see that how it's intended to be used. If w4ch got traffic, I'm sure it'd be be properly moderated. The imageboards are surely moderated with that thought process in mind.
