As a response for the previous thread, I don't know where YOU fixed your BD drive for 40 dollars, but if I had to send in my ps3 to sony without my warranty intact ( it had already expired ) it would've cost me around 100-150 euros to get the BD drive replaced... Also I was using an old 80 GB ps3, which was completely full, getting a good HDD with a lot of space could've set me back another 100 euros, combine that with the ps3 already being old and having the possibility of it dying shortly after getting it fixed, I opted for just getting a brand new 320 GB one for 274 euros instead. I think this whole spoiler crap is dumb and is practically making this place unbrowsable. It's not even like Congress will even bother with this place, so this form of "protest" is kinda pointless. So I'm going to avoid 4chan until this whole thing blows over.

Thank you for letting me vent. Also, that Gust tease looks like it might be related to Ar Tonelico; that city looks like Fire...something, I forget. It was from the first game. There's also some hi-techy stuff.

Depends how you look at it. The Vita isn't exactly doing great* in Japan so whether the recent Vita trend sticks or not remains to be seen. The only upside to the Vita from my perspective is that it has a lot of launch titles, none of which I'm personally interested in. Either way I'm not paying £230/£280 for a handheld just for a single game. I imagine an emulator will be available eventually so the only thing I'm missing out on is giving Gust my money.

*Compared to the 3DS at least. From what I've seen the sales (especially after the first week of release) haven't exactly been living up to par. The NA/EU release of Vita might change this but with such a high price tag I honestly doubt it.

Dear GUST,

I would like to take this moment to award you this nice little FUCK YOU for choosing to release your new game on a handheld that's overpriced, shitty and even lacking a TV out option.
You get an additional, even bigger FUCK YOU since once your game turns out to be awesome and feature Hymmnos-level songs by Shikata et al. , I will most likely give in and buy this shitty handheld just for your game.

Why are you doing this to me?

>> No.8464242

Key word. I have over 40 games in my backlog alone and that's not counting the soon to be released games to add to that (Neptunia mk2, Meruru, Tales of Graces f, FFXIII-2 etc.) so I'm certainly not in any hurry. Plus GW2 will suck away a lot of my free time. If the game turns out good then that's great but I'm in no rush to play it. Gust is a company that caters to a niche audience, alienating some of that audience doesn't seem like a great idea, especially after the numbers they managed to get with Meruru for example.

>>8464242

Just because the 3DS costed similar doesn't mean it isn't overpriced. I can buy a slim 160/320gb PS3 WITH games for less than the price of a Vita without 3G and that's not taking into account the pricing for games and/or a memory card. Call poorfag all you want but that's still a decent amount of money being spent.

What is wrong with KH exactly...? It's also supposed to have TWEWY characters and I love that game.

And half those launch titles you mentioned are just ports of the console versions, and the Uncharted game is just a side game made by a B-level studio. Not to mention I don't like the Uncharted games. So for me, the Vita doesn't seem to have many games I'd like coming out at launch. If that's different for you though, then that's cool.

I've used a JP proxy to order it at Rakuten. Them and Melonbooks were the only ones who still had the LE (a bit more than a week ago, at least).
Rakuten should still have copies left, and they don't charge for shipping so you save like 300-500 yen.

Before that, I also tried the usual import sources (cdjapan and some local online stores), but none of them even had it listed.

It is possible to make a Risk map with a combined world, with the three regions as their own separate main landmasses with two or three "continents" each with their own interconnectivity, and the three connected by airship routes.

To illustrate, a list of the world's continents:
A. Wings of Horus - Broken into territories ie. Nemo, Singing Hills, Wings of Remembrance etc
B. Ar Tonelico - The main tower territories ie. Platina, Rinkernator, etc
C. The Rim - The various locations on the Rim proper
D. Great Bell(working name) - Tower proper up to Sol Marta
E. Great Fang - The mountain regions and towns
F. Harvestasha Sector B(modified a bit) - Archia and Tower of Origin to Garvelt Bridge + Moocheriel
G. Harvestasha Sector A(modified a bit) - Kniehar Signal Station up to Ku
Note the imbalance in the distribution of territories; holding different continents should have different rewards associated with them. Larger territories such as the Tower of Ar Tonelico should have larger bonuses than say, the Great Fang. Also, connectivity must be carefully controlled and balanced, it is possible to do this using game canon as a device to set it up ie. the Blast Line, rail routes and the bridge in Harvestasha etc.

Continued for "Field too long"...

Adapting AT to the gameplay mechanics, each class of unit can be renamed to a corresponding AT term to reflect the tiny scale the game's universe runs in: 1 infantry = 1 human, 1 calvary = 1 third generation reyvateil, 1 artillery = 1 beta/origin/named unit. Note that this must be purely, purely cosmetic and cannot have an effect on the game mechanics.

General gameplay mechanics of Risk remain; it isn't Risk anymore if you change it up. Dice rolls, troops, and cards all work the exact same, only the map and the name of your units change.

tl;dr if you want a Risk game, give me a good artist who can draw a nice map, I'll draw territory/connection lines and a continent bonus table on it, and you have yourself an Ar Ciel Risk game you can print out or something.

>> No.8472810

>>8472738
I dunno, you can change it up a little and still have fully recognisable Risk. Just look at Metal Gear Solid Risk, which adds bosses you can put with armies to get certain bonuses, buying cards with points, and an entire region that moves randomly to 6 different places unless you control all 3 territories in it which lets you choose where it goes at the end of your turn.

The bosses thing might work, having different reyvateils give different effects, but the Outer Haven thing definitely would not

Elemia on its own could be broken up pretty well too:

A: Upper tower (anything above frozen eye)
B: Lower tower (anything on the tower itself below frozen eye)
C: Inner Wings of Horus (Half closest to the tower, e.g. Nemo)
D: Outer Wings of Horus (Half furthest from the tower, e.g. Karulu)
E: Firefly Alley (the game's australia)

I can see that.

Saki - +1 to highest defense roll
Jacqli - +2 to highest attack roll, -1 to highest defense roll
Shurelia - One extra army on the same territory Shurelia is in during your reenforcement phase
Misha - Any army Misha moves with can move to any territory you own even if it's not directly connected

Stuff like that. Those effects are taken directly from MGSR by the way

It's not Risk without WORLD domination!

That and there are simply too few territories in each individual region to make a real Risk game out of, even though you can split up each town into parts and split up the areas it would end up highly simplistic and not nearly as fun.

dlc: It has something to do with the shrine and Hyuma 44. After you went there and got it, you can install (the very very bad) dlc.
It was short, not exactly good, not even voiced.. and the optional "last part" .. terrible doesn't even begin to describe it.

Other than that there is the crashing location(afair Tilia's house, as long as other locations are also open) and NISA screwing up the voices which destroyed the last part of the cosmosphere if you use japanese voices. (so just switch to english ones for the third level. Better no voice than that screw-up. You probably wouldn't enjoy the climax otherwise)

AR is quite nice with those things though. Adv. Ending requires l50 and the strongest monsters defeated anyway. So just defeat all the bounty, strong and dragon-type monsters for exp.
If you play for endings, then you'll have a problem though. Not all of them give you a trophy.
true, good and normal endings: 6char+1generic each = 21 versions
pie ending: for each char one = 6 versions
bad, adv., rich, astrid = + 4 Endings
So, 31. The bad ending isn't really an ending (no credits), but it does give a trophy.
Also, for example, just because the true ending + Cordelia is called "Cordelia's ending" it doesn't mean it's the best with her. I personally like her good ending more.
So, even with this Gust was nice. They could've easily done something like "watched all good endings" for trophies. It's not like a character is a lot more important in his or her named ending than in a different ending. They just aren't on the CG. (+ they usually "don't do something" against the current situation, but they tend to have just as much screen time)
