hey /jp/
some of us set up a dc hub for 4chan use
if you'd like to share files or chat please feel free to join
we have ~23TB of combined shared content with a couple of users and obviously we will have more if you join
the only rules are no sharing of illegal CONTENT (cp rape snuff etc.) and no /b/ like behavior please
fun fact the sharing of copyrighted content is an ACT the CONTENT itself is not illegal

the hub address is adc://ghub.serveirc.com:411

tutorial images coming in next posts
windows client here http://www.apexdc.net/
linux and mac client here http://code.google.com/p/eiskaltdc/downloads/list (or check your repos)

there is no share/speed requirement but you must at least share what you download
any questions please post in the thread or ask in the hub

oh man, this makes me remember SADCHUB... those were the good ol' days

Not this shit again.
Fuck off /g/.
"Retro" technology can be fun.
But not when it has been completely superseded by better alternatives. That's why Raspberry Heaven died and 4chan started a BitTorrent tracker.

Set up an FTP server if you want be useful.

Fuck off moron. Easy things invite newfags, soccer moms, soccer mom kids, ect to use them. Thats when you get things like megaupload.

>> No.8456440

Reminds me of UW DC++.

It died off in recent years.
For a reason.

This is/was /g/'s DC hub.

I don't know what you're arguing here, exactly. Are you saying we should encourage this thread as a sort of retard magnet? Or are you saying Direct Connect is `hard' and therefore we should use it?

He confuses "etc." with "ect". Don't take what he says seriously.

Easy things become vogue, then every moron on the internet starts using it. then it attracts the attention of the copy right holders, then eventually it goes down. Been like this for years.

The only things that stick around are the things that are harder than buying it.

This, let's put our extensive time reserves to use.

The more convoluted the process, the less likely anyone is to care about what we're doing.

Keeps saying connection failed when I test it. What did I do wrong?

Try giving a different port for each one rather than 1337 for each.
