By "not a whole lot", I might as well have said "none". That is, going by the whole package of distorted vocals, growling or speak-singing, selective synth use and garage/basement sound.

However, apparently there's a decent amount of reasonably impressive mid/late-90's sounding Vocaloid J-rock, fittingly usually labeled as Haku rather than Miku. Which while not even remotely close to black metal is at least a small step on the way.

Music is a matter of preference. As with all art, it isn't something that has more or less value. If you think otherwise, you don't "get" music as well as you think you do.

Classical and Jazz aren't taught in schools because they have more value, it's because they are more suited to pedagogy because they follow clearly-defined rules, patterns, trends and structures across an entire spectrum of different skill levels. Nothing more, nothing less.

The only thing that determines how much value a piece of music has is the connection made between the musician and the listener. If you haven't felt that connection with Miku yet, then I'm sorry, maybe it just isn't for you. There's no reason to force yourself.

You should define what your take on "musical value" is.

I think it's an accepted fact that some music is more conducive to excitement/quickening heart beat/pulsing rhythm etc. than others. I'm not so sure about that. I seem to remember a lot of them being distributed with characters like Alice from Queen's Blade, Dream Club girls or bikini models. I remember the Powerpuff one was a model with rave-like lighting and a Neru model with big breasts set to bounce extra and t-back black panties. I don't really think this is worth discussing in any case, not really surprised to find someone who doesn't share my sentiments.
