So i was trying to draw momiji the other day but im having a really hard time with one part: her chest

like, on a serious note, do you guys have any tutorials as to how to draw proportionally correct chests? The outline is fine, but what's really screwing me over is the shading and the inner part of the chest.

I tried to go over the human anatomy of that, but im still having trouble understanding this.

I have an awkward request, so It should have an interesting turnout if anyone would like to take it.

Could I have a picture of Meiling sitting on a milk crate outside of the SDM at winter holding a bottle of apple cider and using a laptop? Bonus points if there's a hand coming through the laptop's monitor and Meiling is giving it a fist bump.

Could someone draw Youmu giving a very strong huge on Myon? Her face would be pressing against Myon, she would be smiling with her cheek pressed against him. It would really brigthen my day to see something so cute.

Koishi wake up this morning and went fishing, there was only one problem, when she arrived at the lake Koishi noticed she had no fishing rod, in the far she saw the scarlet devil mansion so she decided to go there for a fishing rod, once she arrived the girl tried to open the outer door but the gatekeeper slapped her.

-You can't enter here.

She should had not hit Koishi, the pain makes her uneasy and when she feels like that naughty things happen, before the young Komeiji could react the wise words of her sister resounded in her head.

-A good coffee calms your nerves, there's nothing to fear once you have a warm cup of the aromatic beverage in your hands.

So Koishi took a deep breath and thought about it, “a coffee sure sounds nice.”
Then she went inside the manor, in her way to the kitchen she murdered the whole EoSD cast and mutilated half the maids.

Ten minutes later she was out with the cup on her hands, it took a little, doesn't matter how skilled you're, you can't make a coffee fast with only a hand with 3 fingers and one leg but the maid did her best and that's why Koishi gift her a sweet kiss on the cheek, sadly the poor servant couldn't feel it since she was already dead when the lips of Hartman's girl touched her face.

Now she heads back to Chireiden with the cup on her hands, she doesn't drink because it's too bitter for her tastes, yet, the aroma is pleasant and the sound of the rain on her hat makes Koishi smile.

Once she's back at home the girl leaves the cup on the kitchen and greets her sister.

-Hello.
-Did you have fun, Koishi?
-Indeed.
-Did something happen?
-Not really, good night.
-Good night.

And so ends another day on the happy life of Koishi Komeiji, she takes a bath, eats something and pets a while Orin before falling asleep on her bed with a big, big smile.

I've been on /jp/ and draw threads for years but my only contributions have been OC-tan pics in MS-paint so im trying to get better at digital art after my hiatus.

This artist certainly improved from 2001 to 2003, and in terms of technique 2003 to 2006, but the 2003 art was already as good as what you see in many manga genres.

Quite frankly I think he picked up some nice technique from 2003-2006 but after 2006, while I'm sure he continued learning new things it seems like nothing that relates to absolute quality(like how to draw mechs), meaning it's just a stylistic change. From 2006-2010 it looks like he simply went from a moe artist to a quasi goth-bishounen artist. 2006 seems just as colored, shaped, detailed, and expressive as 2010.

Maybe it's unrelated, but the shading on the face in 2008 looks absolutely awful. I hate it when artists try to shade half the face realistically when the style is clearly low-detail manga. I'm sure I stated that oddly, but it's like trying to give 3d features to a face that's supposed to look flat/2d. A nose and mouth with only implied structure casting a strong shadows is just strange.

There are a lot of slice of life and 4koma manga with art that looks very similar to that of 2003-4. I'm not saying that means it's quality art... what matters at that level of art is how fast you can produce it, and whether you can draw backgrounds, so I suppose that isn't really saying much. Sorry.

Please point out artistic techniques which he added which have improved the art's quality(What I meant by the mech comment is that learning how to draw new objects is good but that's not part of the definition I'm using of "artistic quality") in an objective way between 2006 and 2010. I don't think there are any. Whereas between 2003 and 2006 you can see a drastic improvement in things like coloring, detailing of clothing and expression of depth.

Granted being able to draw more things(such as mechanical objects) as an improvement as an artist, but I'm not simply talking about broadening scope. Maybe her composition/ability to draw backgrounds got better, I don't know since everything before 2007 is a white background.

You're only picking out the way I phrased it and not what I was saying. I'm saying it's inconsistent with the style that is being used. If you don't think that's a bad thing, or disagree, then fine.

I'm not trying to look down on this person as an artist. I don't even know who it is. I simply don't think there's much actual improvement in 2006-10. I see a broadening of scope/varying of style but not so much of what I would define as an improvement of art. Maybe I would have to see the full pictures to make an accurate judgement.

Rethinking this, going from a pure moe style to being able to draw bishounen type characters and mechs alone is a big improvement as an artist, perhaps I'm phrasing things too strongly. But as a layperson with no professional art knowledge, at a glance it is hard for me to tell if the artist hasn't peaked out in terms of artistic technique at around 2006/7.
