The most difficult part would be getting readers. For that, you need interesting content. Not shit that's already all over the place, you need a niche. Then you need time. A long ass time, not a month, more like a year or more. Don't even bother with shit like adsense and the like until you've got a site up and running.

But don't just sit your ass on one blog and never move. Even if your blog sucks ass, it's an asset you can use. There are dozens of freelance writing sites on the internet (to start you off, search on constant-content or something). You write shit and sell your articles, each site has a different system.

Your blog can be "experience" to make more customers willing to buy whatever crap you write. It will put you ahead of the other high school dropouts who sign up and just have "I can write" on their profiles. Basically, a blog ain't fancy, but if you want to make money without ever leaving your house, it will help.
