Thinking back to FFXI and watching Sword Art Online I wish there were some definitive JMMORPG to be playing. Guess I'll keep waiting in vain for FFXIV 2.0...

Been playing PSO2 in the mean time but you can't really call it a proper MMORPG. It doesn't even have an open game world apart from the lobby and there's hardly any content. I wonder what else could be good to play.

To be specific, I want a game I can escape to at least for the next few years. A game world I can be proud of being a part of. No soulless Korean WoW clone could achieve that.

For me immersion and the feeling of community and adventure is more important than stuff like combat mechanics. Normalfag MMO fans don't seem to get this aspect. If you talk to a WoW player you realise they don't understand the urge to escape to another world. They just like playing progress quest and "getting epics" or being "server first". It's disgusting.

It terms of open world, Tera is probably the best right now. It's huge and you can spend a lot of time exploring it. To bad the endgame is pretty dry right now. It might go f2p in a few months unless the next big patch really changes the game.
