For the most part you are correct, but even people with a very small vocabulary can become an editor, as you stated, google is accessible by most.

As for myself, I edit for 2 groups already, both of which are rather inactive, so I would be willing to assist with any TL, if the game is of interest anyway.

It's rather easy, I myself edit for some TL projects, I simply found a game that I liked which was being translated, then joined the group(s).

But for the most part, people find TL groups through VNDB, TLWiki and other related sites.

I suffer from insomnia pretty badly, I tend to sleep once every 2 days and only for between 3-6 hours.

I believe the longest I have ever gone without sleep is 3-4 days.
