Pitchin' some powerup ideas, tell me what you think.

FAT MARISA: Can squash any enemy that gets under you, and roll around at high speed when necessary.

CHO MARISA: Can break special barriers and use high damage attacks.

SUPER MARISA: Bodacious. Can run fast and charm humanoid enemies.

YUKKURISA: Bouncy, can't pick up things or squash enemies because she's tiny. Can rally other yukkuris to overtake enemies. Might be used in pinball levels

Now, do you think it'd be a good idea to use forms based on existing stuff, or should I take a bit more creative freedom? I don't want it to look like I've taken both ZUN and Tasofro's work and run with it, those guys deserve respect.

Plot bullshit: during a summer festival a giant black hole (or something) opens up and swallows Gensokyo. Marisa is rescued by Yumemi, who reveals that Gensokyo was pulled into her world.

As it turns out, both the laws of physics and magic work very differently there, and the scattered Gensokyo has been twisted and warped by the strange forces at work there. In addition, many of Gensokyo's denizens have been twisted into deranged monsters and are terrorizing the people of Yumemi's world.

Yumemi makes a deal with Marisa that if she takes care of the rampaging Gensokians and gathers the concentrated orbs of magic that have been created, she'll find a way to send Gensokyo back to where it belongs. But can Marisa survive this bizarre dimension without her magical skills?

Thinking of making a spiritual sequel to New Super Marisa Land in the form of a Super Mario 64 clone, featuring lots of PC-98 characters.
