I have two specifc threads relating to otaku culture and Japan up my sleve to use soon, but I am too tired recently to put that much effort into a thread.

I'll make it soon.

I don't really like gerneals that much. You have no choice in retero threads though. Movie threads tend to happen that way too unless you want to write a small essay on a Japanese moive for your OP.

Its a deep world with a lot of franchise and other stories surrounding it. its big becaise its universe is so big. You can only go deeper into starwars. Much more room to escape into.

Plus Japan is very big into super sentai and special effects in their tokusatsu. Like bringing to life fantasy. Star wars has a lot of those elements found in both of those movments.

Yeah. Japan has no such things as homeless shelters or viable charities.

If you want a little bit more of a look into this I suggest reading the manga titled homunculus.

Japanese even consider it bad omen or the loss of your own spiritual as well as worldly status if you associate/help these homeless people.

In Japan today people still look down upon and shame people who are trash-men, butchers of cows/pigs, leather makers, and worst of all funeral/burial servers.

In Japan you can be a vital part in the sustainment of the entire society and still be hated by everyone.

Japan is a so called "miracle" country, but they destroy lives to do so. Many artists in Japan today and that of intellectuals believe Japan will not go on much longer this way. They think Japan will utterly collapse or they change or even abandon many of their still prominent traditions that they believe or only impacting Japanese human life negatively.

You've completely missed the point of why Japan loves Star Wars then, because it is explaining why Japan loves star wars.
>>13813609
Its an easy answer for anyone who knows a moderate amount about Japan.

I think you and I are on the same boat.

Its a good desk, but now I have to get rid of it somehow. I think I'm going to struggle the most with the Japanese living spaces. I'm considering moving into a tiny house for a while or even a mini room that Japan is famous for.

I don't think I'll be moving into anything overly comfortable for at least 2 years, so I will hold off on importing some of my belongings for a while. This also means that I won't be able to frame any of my posters either or atleast not the bigger ones.

If you really haven't noticed Japan is huge on stories and creation of mythos.

Starwars brought about a big science fiction wave that was already turning waters in Japanese movies and manga/anime.

Its just not that hard of a concept. Japan drenches its self in fantasy to escape the harsh Japanese lifestyle of merely existing for nonstop work and trying to avoid bumping into sharp traditional corners of restriction. Starwars is possibly the most dangerous movie fictions out there a person can get lost in, thus Japan loves it.

Japanese escapism is not regular casual escapism and the issues surrounding this in Japan should not be taken lightly. I think outsiders looking into Japan look at everything from their own cassual experiences they relate to Japanese experiences, but this is the wrong way to do it. Amplify those eemotions by 20 all the while knowing you won't be able to express these emotion. Also look into the burdens Japanese face.

Devote your understanding of modern Japan by first understanding the history, traditions, and cultural values that lead up to the modern day. It is sad and a hard reality in the day and life of a Japanese person. Yet, they carry on with pride knowing that they a people of ddaily strength. They are admirable if they can do this without loosing themselves in fantasies like star wars.

Good night.

You made this thread again OP? Goodness.Alright, well, I'll say it all again.

I believe this video is making this problem appear a larger issue than it actually is. A lot of those girls are just maid cafes.

Nothing to see here. Just vice doing wha t they seem to do a lot of the time with social issues.

>Fabricating a false narrative of sensationalism for clickbait?

Yes I really would think this might be the case. They do tons of stories on Japanese sex industry, but rarely anything else relating to Japan.

This social issue has declined and not risen.

That is vastly and hugely all the deeper problem in Japan though. You go to other countries and they still have models to look at as sources of manhood with many men looking to their own fathers as such. They don't do that in Japan really.

What do you mean? What form of reading? Maybe we can talk about in a thread you make>?

Yes, but everyone of them I saw was mentally ill. Japan has no mental disorder nets in place to help these people.

Its said that many 60 year old men who've lost their jobs and with their wives divorcing them set up camps in the parks living in communities together. There are a few movies on this topic too.

The Japanese notion of manhood is largely undefined other than having a stable job.

Japan lost a great sense of manhood after ww2 and they still struggle with what it means to be an adult man.

Japan is ''Super flat''

The way I look at is that no matter what those who choose illegal activity and behavior will always find a way to get guns even if its illegal for citizens to own them. Also no matter what the government your nation chooses for its self will always have guns too.

This is very accurate to Japan's situation too.
The Japanese middle man and citizen is stuck in the middle between two powerful forces that sometimes work in tangent with one another.

Every Japanese friend who is a citizen in Japan has never once agreed with citizens carrying guns or having that right in Japan. Some think its a good thing for the U.S.A, but not Japan.

Either way Japan would benefit from the liberalization of gun laws for multiple reasons, I agree with you.

At this point I don't see why Japan doesn't just bring back their citizen law allowing them to own guns. Their economy is staggering and they're loosing investors.

If they got the gun market up and running again it could lead to innovation and overseas sales.

It wasn't until the late 70's that Japan banned gun ownership for its citizens. From the Meiji period to then it was allowed to own guns.

Cause she's never done anything really substantial over there. She's never done a movie that's shown she can really give a 5 star act.
