Finally finished Rance IX. Pretty decent game, though a little too linear for my liking. Gameplay drags on a bit too much. My favourite part is probably the title screen.

I wouldn't say it's about urging wota to spend more money on theatre tickets, because you only pay if you win, and they have no problem filling capacity.

The main purpose of it is to increase AKB single sales. As they are the only things that give the points in terms of handshakes and the election.

And yes, the event is stupid, and I don't expect most wota to really care about it, especially as there has not been any incentive given yet (as far as I'm aware) for why you would want your team or girl to get the most points.

Ok? The majority of this game is spent in visual novel format. There are decision points. There are different routes depending on whether you've set certain flags. It's no less a VN than any of the other titles that get talked about here with strategy gameplay.

Just finished 第2次スーパーロボット大戦z 再世篇 so I'll be ready to play the new one. Looking forward to Rance IX but that's about it.

More and more of AKB's single sales are because of sister groups. They sell 1 million singles. But they are selling handshake tickets for girls from every single group with those singles. Meanwhile SKE might sell say 500k singles, but they're only selling tickets for SKE members. AKB's independent popularity isn't as strong as it used to be, but the group overall is still healthy.

Well, I didn't really find the reveals that crazy in 999 anyway. I just kind of wanted to play a cool mystery/survival type game after I played Root Double that didn't have magic/supernatural bullshit in it, but unfortunately 999 was kind of a let down. The only thing I really liked about it was Yotsuba, but I had heard she acts really lewd in VLR which was disappointing. I'm also not sure how I feel about the 3D, I think the 2D sprites looked really nice in 999, but the 3D models look really plain in VLR. Though it is nice that it has voice acting.

Played through that 999 game on the DS. Was kind of average I guess. The ending was pretty lame.
Looking forward to the new Rance game. Should be out this Friday right? Haven't really been following anything about it, I just hope it's better than the last one.

Sure. While it does drag on quite a bit in parts, most of my problems with it are simply that it isn't the kind of game I wanted it to be. It's not like I think it was necessarily badly written or something. It was still interesting enough to keep me reading through though, which is more than most VNs these days. I'd say give it a shot.

Just finished Root Double. While it wasn't a bad game, I found it to be rather disappointing and not really what I was expecting. The only route I actually enjoyed was After, and the rest I felt like I was just forcefully reading through to get to the end.

I wasn't sure which of the two routes to read first, but seeings as the game starts you with A highlighted first, I went with that. If there is a bunch of flashbacks I'll just skip them.

Reading Root Double now. Seems pretty interesting so far.
