I only get desyncs when my internet is working properly. The thing is, I'm at a university and while there are no blocked ports and for the most part no rules at this one, when it's under heavy use it CUTS OUT FOR NO REASON for 5 seconds or so, which really sucks for gaming.

But yeah, other than that, I've had a desync maybe like, once.

1) Update your PoFV to the latest version, 1.50a

If you have troubles updating see below

2) Download and put Adonis in your PoFV folder:
http://coolier.sytes.net:8080/th_up2/src/th2_6586.zip

3) Run Adonis. Should be straightforward from there. You pick whether you want to host or connect to someone, and you pick the ip and port. When someone connects to the host the host picks lag compensation level, lower is for better pings.

PROBLEMS:

Q) I can't move, wtf?

A) Run PoFV normally and change player 1 control settings to Full. It's caused by improperly set controls

Q) Adonis closes right after I enter an IP/port to connect to!

A) Could be one of the following things: a) The game does not exist, b) the host's firewall/router is messed up so you can't detect a game, c) the game already has a player

Q) Game starts after connecting but crashes right away!

A) Try backing up your th09.cfg and then deleting it. It's something to do with the cfg and no one is exactly sure what yet.

Q) Can't update

A) If you have trouble updating your PoFV, it's probably bitching at you for not being able to find a file because you downloaded it while in English mode or something and so the names are all messed up. You can dl the game again or I might be able to rs it if it's one of the readmes (yes, it checks for the readmes for who knows what reason)

Q) The other guy is running into the only bullet on the screen repeatedly!

A) Game probably desynced. You'll have to reconnect. It doesn't catch it automatically. Only happens to shitty connections.

Going to have to be more specific. Does adonis just close? If so the spectators/player slot may be full, or the game doesn't exist. If the game itself crashes, well, that's a whole different issue.

We desynced. Figured this would happen. Was really smooth for a while though. Reconnect if you want.

Ok, ping has appeared to have leveled off. I make no guarantees though.
