Zouken and True Assassin were horrible villains. And really Black Berserker and Saber weren't that great.

The only badassery brought to the table is by Kotomine after the attack on Zouken.

I seriously need to reread UBW. It's the only route in Fate/Stay Night I thought was above average.

I thought Fate was pretty meh until Gil showed up.

And HF for me was only bad except for Ilya and Kotomine. And it's amazing how all of the bad ends are better than the true end.

Anyways the anime is what got me into the series. I remember thinking it was pretty damn "Ehhhhhhhhhhhh."

Looking back on it, I was right.
