>editing
The editors are busy with life/other personal projects. "A couple weeks" is what I heard from one of them.

>R;N
I haven't imported R;N, but I did play the demo, and it just didn't feel like C;H or R;N. That seems to be the general consensus for the full game. That it was a letdown from S;G.

The lackluster reviews, combined with how all-out 5pb. went with it (Animated 3D models, noitaminA anime in the fall), makes it seem like R;N could hurt 5pb..
And in my perfect imaginary land, that means 5pb. would be more willing to milk S;G worldwide.

I'm secretly hoping that Robotics;Notes' failure will spur 5pb.. Either way, the editing's not done yet, and QC hasn't started, so it's not like giving up on negotiations prematurely will do anything right now.

Untranslated. This thing's probably not going to get edited.

Changes:
Fixed a few typos and unedited lines.
Added an alternate command. (xyzzy)
Translated menus and sound mode

Most importantly,
Emulated machines that didn't support kanji mode now display English instead of kana.

So now you can have fun burning your eyes and ears with even lower-spec'd machines.
Like the Green/Black one, or the one whose music slows down when it's updating the screen.

I'll upload the next version sometime tomorrow.
So, if anyone has any issues to report now, I can go fix those.

Someone's already caught a line that was left untranslated, and I already added *xyzzy as an alternate command.

I'm considering adding more alternate commands to fix >>8620638
since that part annoyed me a little too.

If you want, I can add it as an alternate command for *cheat.

>> No.8620658 [View]

Yeah, use Assistant and Phone whenever you need a hint.
Though, near the very end, you'll probably need to look stuff up.
Hell, when I did a rough playthrough today to see if it was possible to clear it without crashing, I had to cheat and peek at the scripts at a few parts.

If you spot any errors, or if you feel cheated when the game didn't accept the command you expected it to, don't hesitate to tell me, either on my blog, or in a thread like this.

Some interesting things I learned from the English commands:
Tutturu was originally not an acceptable spelling. The only accepted one was "to true".
Di-sword means "delusional ideal sword".
The spelling Knight-hart used in Chaos;Head was an error. The correct spelling is Neithardt. There are at least four instances mentioning how it's a German name.

I was using the untranslated .exe to check to see if it was the patch's fault.

But I now I tried the translated .exe again, and I can't reproduce OP's problem.

I'm fixing up the prologue and the first chapter.
Also retranslating some lines to my style along the way.

>> No.7922352 [View]

Original line: Male virgin bad, Female virgin good.
Localized line: Male unvirgin good, Female unvirgin bad.

Doesn't DeMorgan's rule say they're equal?

>> No.7922265 [View]

>>7922201
The next line is "That's not a saying. That's more like a low level argument finisher."

If I left it as a literal translation, it would lose the nuance that it's not an actual saying.

And the meaning is more or less the same. They both illustrate the double standard between male and female virginity.

The full kopipe goes like this:

Pupil: "Sensei, plenty of men value a woman's virginity."
Confucius: "That is correct."

Pupil: "However, women look down upon a man's virginity."
Confucius: "Certainly."

Pupil: "Isn't that unusual? How did this sort of sentiment arise?"
Confucius: "That is because a fortress that's never been invaded is reliable; a soldier who has never invaded is unreliable."

Pupil: "So then, is a fortress that's never been invaded for 30 years proportionately reliable?"
Confucius: "What happens to a fortress 30 years after it's been built?"

Pupil: "It becomes mostly rusted away, and depending on the situation, abandoned."
Confucius: "Meaning nobody would would invade that fortress."

That's the point. The Japanese line comes from the internet as well:

The original saying was
>一度も侵入を許していない砦は頼もしくて、一度も侵入に成功しない兵
士は頼りない
>A fortress that's never been invaded is reliable; a soldier who has never invaded is unreliable.

I don't have any problems here, and the sound.npa file is indeed 188,922,548 bytes.

GATE OF STEINER -main theme- plays in the title menu.
マスカレード is a vocal track which plays during some RaiNet scenes.
