So, I just finished reading the third short story in the first book.
I thought, since it's called DYING EARTH, it would be more like a Mad Max with magic, but it has this dreamy, old-school-romance style fantasy.
Is it going to be like this for the rest of the book(s) as well?

Fantasy is fantasy, it's genre lit. Try to enjoy it as it is. Or read Beowulf (Seamus translation), then read Grendel (the novel).
