bump for answers seriously, just some input.
I'm making this decision right now as we speak. Leaning towards more drunk, but can't remember when I ate last

Is the literature experience, an occult practice? Why or why not? It certainly isn't social.

Seriously /lit/ I'm out of here for real this time. When I realized that Marcus Aurelius originally titled the Meditations "To Myself" I became aware of the true use of literature and philosophy. Not to mention the front page is like 90% pictures of that fat guy from Seinfeld. Goodnight, you princes of Maine, you kings of New England.

mental illness? Yes, that is a convenient way to excuse the abuse of the working class.

Hm, only someone aware of their enslavement would be capable of this....
Also, the working class have existential crises all the time.

trollpic? Anyway, the existentialists are generally superfluous reiterations of stoicism/skepticism/cynicism. I am in a bad mood so I'm going to go ahead and say that this variety of thought exercise was pretty exhausted by the fall of the Roman empire. These are the people who made money from Greek/Roman philosophy in the modern era.

I have been reading the Discourses of Epictetus and The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, and generally studying Stoic philosophy. Are any other /lit/izens? I was wondering what other texts would be of use and whether or not you have had successes in applying the philosophy in your life. To be honest, this outlook is steering me away from visiting /lit/ and even urging me to abstain from reading fiction.
