Looking for an old story I used to read when I was younger. I've been googling forever, and searching every bookcase in my old home, but nothing has turned up.
It's a native american folk tale about Wendigos. Specifically, it talks about how every month, the Wendigos would come down from the mountains and kill a few villagers, take them back to their 'lair' and eat them slowly. Then one day a pudgy boy said he would kill the Wendigos. Everyone laughed, said he couldn't do it, so on.. But he killed them successfully by climbing up the mountain and shooting an arrow through every heart in the nest of Wendigo hearts. It was terribly descriptive, and it usually gave my horrible nightmares, but I loved reading it over and over.
I know it's tl;dr... but please, /lit/. You're my last resort.
