Well it surely does, for starters because things like happiness and standard of living are not uniformly defined, but not on as an absolute scale as it might need to for objectivism to work.

Actually, data shows that money and financial security as a whole is incredibly important in terms of a persons health and happiness, more than genetics even.

Forgive me for speaking in such anecdotal terms on account of my not being able to remember exactly what the study was called but I remember reading in Genome about a study of a typical corporation it was found that healthy, young, nonsmoking, fit people were more likely to suffer heart attacks than upper level chain smoking hard living executives. Things like health care and diet were controlled and it was concluded that the only recognizable reason why things were the way they were was that there was much more stress on lower level easily replaceable workers than upper level management.

What does it say about people that literally everything we know about health can be overturned by the presence of wealth?

I wouldn't say there were twists as much as just rapid developments of suspense as information came in. It felt more like LOST than say the sixth sense.
