has there ever been a book published with no plot?

Thinking about writing an entire book just describing things. How bad of an idea is this ?
I'm published, but only with some critiques and a poem or two.

Possibly an ignorant question, but is the publishing of philosophy the same as publishing fiction? Do you just contact a publisher and go through the same process?

Archaeology is really giving me some applicable settings and materials for world building. It's also interesting to see how so many languages are connected.
