Would you realistically be content to live in near-total isolation for the rest of your life reading books?

The older I get, the more such a lifestyle appeals to me. To get away from gossiping, petty disputes, the hypocrisy and general state of society, etc. It seems like a relatively ideal life, if a rather sad one. I feel as though I no longer have any interest in taking part in society.

Are there any books about this topic?

John Williams' writing gets me everytime, does Augustus hold up to Butcher's Crossing and Stoner? I am tempted to buy it.

I am reading Linkola's "Can Life Prevail" right now and while it's really comfy to listen to him talk about old life in Finland and all the types of animals, it feels like it lacks the depth that Ted has. I'll definitely finish it because I like his writing style, but it is a lot different than I expected it to be. The fact that it is divided up into small essays is also unexpected.
I'd like to read about religion and ecology so if any anons have any books about that let me know.

Thinking of reading the Bible. What are the most important books of the Old and New Testament I should read?

Hey /lit/ I need your help. The thing I value the most is knowledge so I want to dedicate my life to it.
I don't need society. In my opinion most things surrounding me are mere distractions.
I think my only way is the hermitic lifestyle. I'm not religious, tho. I just want to be alone in my pursue of wisdom and a ideal body.
The mountains might be the best place. I don't know how I'm going to eat or to keep hygienic or what books to take with me.
What do you think I need?
