any books in analytic philosophy that are similar to reza negarestani "intelligence and spirit", and adrian johnson's upcoming book "substance also as subject"? by this i mean a text that tries to articulate the sufficient conditions of subjectivity within a material world. no i am not interested in stuff talking about the hard problem of consciousness, especially if all it does is overanalyze base, unrefined metaphysical notions as "supervenience"

Has anyone else highlighted/noted on these nice looking urbanomic books. I want to start, since there are some important parts that need to be looked back on, but they're so good looking I would hate to ruin them. Someone please tell me they've done this, comfort me..

What should I expect when reading this? Any prerequisites? Heard its a solid review/critique but im still unsure on what to expect
