I call this the "it's over" mindset when it comes to art.

Strangely, I hear it a lot from people in my generation. Not sure why that's the mainstream opinion either. Even if tropes and stories were recycled, it's still more fun and exciting than other mundane everyday activities

You will probably fare well reading about the neuroscience of ADHD. I am diagnosed with ADD (no hyperactivity) and it severely hinders me in just about every way cognitively. Often I am unable to plan ahead and struggle with fairly simple things, like organizing and cleaning. Without ADHD medication, I probably would not retain anything I read either. It truly is a curse

I've done this, also 40 HZ flicker light entrainment with sound (along with 16 HZ entrainment)
Also tried L-Tyrosine + Dual N-Back training to increase executive function. Also cold showers/ice baths to increase endorphins like dopamine

Suffice to say, it did not work as well as stimulants. I was still barely able to focus on anything for a prolonged period, nor was I able to read anything for a long period of time. It makes you wonder just how much of this is nature vs nurture. I can't seem to get rid of the damn thing
