Pic related, which is around 1400 pages. If I ever read In Search of Lost Time or the Mahabharata, both of which are in the 4000 page count range, then I will have reached peak bragging rights and there will be nowhere to go from there.

The 19th century was the peak of fiction. The novels that were considered classic were both literary and ambitious, while also having mass appeal and were widely read. It was before literary writers decided to go full experimentation and anti-populism and genre fiction as we now know it became its own distinct category.
