Ken Wheeler. He's a self described Hardcore Traditionalist and an 'expert' on the pro-Self theory of buddhism since it would be in line with Advaita (he claims to know the Pali language despite no evidence other than words he wrongly misinterprets). He's been known for samefagging buddhist forums and amazon buddhist pages under many aliases, in which he was caught purposefully vandalizing them with fake reviews and insulted people for not agreeing with him various forums including reddit.

Among other things he's known to be a proponent of the 'electric' theory of reality where the world is fundamentally described as being electromagentic in nature (or some bullshit like that). He regularly drops pdfs about this theory along with his buddhist dissertations (he's also known to post alex jonesian conspiracy theories in his IG).

Oh he's been speculated to post in /p/ since he's a photographer (known online as Angry Photography) but according to them he's a shit photographer who's been caught plagiarizing other peoples works and likes to brag about his cameras and gear (something /p/ hates). He was also was once caught posing as a women in tumblr named 'Kendra Weelright' in order to shill his videos and promote his ebay page selling lenses. I also remember one instance where he lost a photography battle to some fedora wearing goon, only to then spread rumors weeks later about that person denying refund money to a cancer patient for his workshops (which is a shitty move considering Wheeler's wife died of cancer).

This dude is unhinged and clearly mentally unstable. I wouldn't take his words seriously.

Not that Ken Wheeler cares, small souled bugman that he is and all, but the actual answer to this is that he was kept in his father's palace against his will. The Buddha's pre-renunciate life is essentially just a series of him trying to leave and his father loading him down with pleasures to keep him from leaving. He wasn't even allowed to impregnate his own wife for years to keep him from leaving (in India at the time, and to this day, it was a gross shirking of duty to take up a spiritual life before reproducing). He had to escape in the night from the palace because the guards were told to keep him from leaving.
