Feel like I need to go on one more exploratory date, but yeah, I'm on the verge of backing out.

It's fucking miserable, too, because she has SUCH big fat white tits. I almost can't blame the black dude.

Does any American under the age of 50 have any genuine commitment to the United States? I mean the United States as it currently exists, the way it's been for 100 years or more. It feels like none of the Gen Xers, Millennials, or Zoomers have any deep loyalty to the current state of being in the United States.

I feel like as the Boomers die off this country is going to transform radically. It might even cease to exist. Nobody younger than them has deep roots in the current state of things.

>tfw I'm not actively reading much of anything right now because I'm working so hard on the book I'm writing

I know they say that you tend to stop reading once you start writing, but I do need to be working through something at the moment. The only thing I'm reading right now is the Gospel of Luke, because I swore to myself that I'd reread all four Gospels this year. I also have to reread Ulysses for my master's thesis. I'll try to contribute effortposting in the coming weeks and months, /lit/bros.

Good point. That's actually a really good point. How many people just don't get it done? How many people who say they're going to be a great writer or a great poet don't even put in the effort to write? And how many people who aren't actually talented manage to garner some level of following, simply becuase they have a work ethic that makes them put in the effort day in and day out?

I've had several short stories and several poems published in various venues, and I am currently working on a big story. Thinking about Worm is making me more and more consider just putting it out there into the world and seeing what happens. I'm not even a total nobody online, I have some presence on social media that I could use to promote the story. And more than that, I believe in the story. I think it's good. People who have already read it think it's good, too. I've got an entire book done already and the second book is in progress.

Maybe, following Worm's example, a big, good story should just be released into the world? A story that's of sufficient size, and which has been praised by the few who've already read it? Maybe if such a story were released, it would find the level of success that Worm has found, or greater? I don't know, but Worm's example is so interesting, and compelling.

My cousin is every bit as smart as me, and he comes from a rich family. I slowly watched him squander all his potential by doing nothing but smoking weed all day. This gradually led to him dropping out of school, doing harder and harder drugs, and eventually knocking a girl up. He decided to keep the child, at least, but nowadays he basically works a dead end job and lives with his parents, along with his young son.

He has single-handedly ensured I'll never do any other drug besides alcohol. I don't want to become like him. Weed is absolutely a gateway drug, Peter Hitchens and the rest of the moral crusaders are 100% correct.
