There's legitimate reasons as to think that way.
National debt in the US is at 28 trillion dollars and rising, public trust is at an all time low, the political situation, after years of media agitation and ever growing violence is starting to collapse.
Not to mention rampant political corruption, the explosion of the suicide rates, the Opioid Crisis, a general decrease in the quality of life as a result of the stagnation of wages, it's easy to be pessimistic.
Empires wax and wane. It would seem, that the US is in that aforementioned waning process

It's more a matter of the human condition. Nepotism, corruption, stagnation, moral degeneration etc.
In liberal societies, in my studies, tend to accelerate towards such a fate much faster then authoritarian ones naturally, assuming no one leaders shits everything up (think Commodus)

The collapse of Western civilization started back in the 60's, with the Sexual Revolution and the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. We are just now starting to see and feel the effects of the slow collapse which started over 60 years ago now.
