What is some good literature to read that explores human hypocrisy? Something that gives good arguments for feelings over facts in certain situations?

Basically some people believe in cold logic triumphing over anything else, and people being hypocritical seems to immediately make them lose in any arguments. I want to explore the other side of the coin and give reason and justification to seemingly nonsensical acts humans can carry out because of emotion.
