Curious what people think about psychoanalysis

Is there any real reason to study psychoanalysis these days? The consensus seems to be that it is pseudoscience, and to psychology what alchemy is to chemistry, and yet many philosophers still use it in their works.

Is it worthwhile to understand the motive behind action? Does knowing grant the power to change my motives?

I read this book review (https://robkhenderson.substack.com/p/the-logic-of-envy?s=w)) and the author says a lot that you should read for yourself, but mostly that envy is the main motivator in relationships and is why people watch porn. Right now I find this convincing, though if it is true it destroys the common ideas about porn addiction.

Does knowing the true motive matter? If I agree with this man and accept his conclusions, and he is wrong, would that be detrimental to my efforts to change? Or is it a distraction to be overly concerned with truth, which is used to avoid action? Is it better to act on bad or no information than to delay action until some measure of certainty is attained?

it's kind of ironic how people always say "freud's theories have been disproven" when people are more sex-obsessed now than ever before

where does Freud write specifically about his theories of memory?

What are some good works on female psychology? Preferably non-pozzed and misogynistic.

I've read most of Freud and want to keep reading authors who follow Freudian psychoanalytic thought. I'm particularly interested in social psychology type stuff like Civilization and it's Discontents.

Not interested in Jung.

Bonus points if it's controversial and makes people cope and seethe.

Why do uppity psychologists think they've "refuted" him?

I keep trying to get into it but keep finding the use of previously described concepts I don't fully understand.

I would like to understand his ideas of Id, ego and super-ego as well as all that kind of hydraulic economy of energies directed by libidinal and sexual drives.

I understand his work more as philosophy/literature than as a science. That's why I post it here.
