I actually don't really like Charlie, although I do like other Dahl books.

Phantom Tollbooth is in the same vein as Alice but is in a much more modern style that modern 10 year olds would be able to appreciate, since most 10 year olds don't understand why you would "work" to enjoy a book.

I'm new to /lit/ (as I usually stick to /mu/) but I was just going to get some recommendations for books like this, or even books that could be read over the summer. I'm going to read Atlas Shrugged (I saw once in a thread on everyone hating on the author, but it's for school) but I also want something else to read. Thanks in advance.
