how can you be so sure he wrote something you have no proof of? How can you be so sure Diogenes was a real philospher and not a make shift imaginary character the greeks who o so are known for their creativity made?

Think of the absurdity of Diogenes and how his whole life was documenteted quotes,stories even fictional arguments between him and Plato were made making him seem as a sort of hero and maybe even superior to Plato. Why did none of his stuff survive or you sure he was not just part of the fantasy made by the greeks at the time?
